Is there really a business coming to occupy the Furr's building or is this just a rumor?

that would be nice, but the people that own pizza hut here also own that building. it was the plan all along to move pizza hut to that building.

The Older people in Paris love Furr's, I think it would do great back in their old location on Clarksville St. The Loop was too hard for them to get to.

I would have eaten there more with my family, but it cost $40.00. To High. Needed a special for kids!

WHY IS THE CHAMBER NOT TRYING TO KEEP ANOTHER BUSINESS FROM LEAVING PARIS?? SURELY THERE IS SOMETHING THAT COULD BE DONE!!! THIS WOULD BE A PERFECT SITUATION WHERE CHAMBER/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SHOULD BE INVOLVED INSTEAD OF A STUPID DRAWING! LOTS OF PEOPLE FROM THE SURROUNDING AREA EAT THERE WHEN THEY COME TO TOWN FOR MEDICAL PROCEDURES ETC. THIS WILL HAVE A LARGER EFFECT THAN JUST LOSING A RESTAURANT.

Did the restaurant close due to not making enough money to cover their expenses and make a decent profit, or because the owner's are retiring? I don't remember anyone really saying why it is closing. Lack of profits are usually the reason a place closes.

We just had too many old people coming for the early bird and not enough paying full price. That will shut the doors every time. We had already cut the cobbler bar and started asking patrons to bring their own silverware to cut down on using so much hot water in the dishwasher. We did all we could.

The chamber tried to combine things so they had a drawing at 7:PM to see what business' got to stay in Paris but they announced all the winners 15 minutes early and the people from Furr's were still parking their car.

Surely a person would not want to move into a restaurant. That's just silly.

I hope they're not really closing it would be a shame to see them go. No, they're not the best in town but they're not the worst either certainly edible and they have been in paris for a very long time. One of my earliest memories was coming to visit my grandmother here before we moved to paris and always going to furr's since it was her favorite place to go and she only went when we came to visit. I would always look forward to their mac and cheese ( isn't that every kids favorite ) I will miss the meories it brings everytime we go in there for lunch.

No they are not! They will not be doing anything for the paris pizza hut for at least two years. Heard that directly from way high management, but they do own the building

"way high management" is that what they have on their business card? James Smith, Way High Management? Exactly what position would that qualify? Just wait and see.

How do you know the chamber/PEDC is not working to keep it here or to find a replacement restaurant? Have you asked them? Or did you just make as assumption?

Have you checked into opening up one of those establishments? If you do, I'll be a customer. If you haven't, then you may have the answer as to why "we" don't have places like that. No one has the money or the influence to get a franchise or influence the corporation to open one here. Most corporations have a certain set of criteria that must be met to open a new store.
