Love Bar-b-q but the sides do suck. No one makes potato salad right. Some places cole slaw is good and some places beans are good. BUT, NO ONE makes good potato salad. It needs Miracle whip, a little mustard, boiled eggs, onions and pickles and thats southern tater salad. The other crap must have come from up North.Just MO.
Mash the potato Please.

Scholls is the best, I think its the flies that make it so good. They are in the potato salad but before they end up stuck they have landed all over everything else. Yummo Longhorn is pretty good and if you want to gossip that mother in law will give you an ear full. Most of its lies but what the hell

Scholl Bros. sucks, especially their sides. Maybe the new BBQ on the SE Loop will be the best when it opens soon.
Grandads bbq will be the best around.I have ate the owners cooking at a meeting in the past few months.Awesome cooking and sauce.I think his name was Mike?.He brought us meat, sides, and homemade deserts and it was all the best bbq food I have had.I heard he should be opening his doors very soon..Looks like all his inspections and permits are ready for him to rock-n-roll.A very excited Paris citizens ready to have a reasonable priced good bbq restaurant.

Why don't you just say this is your place instead of talking about it in the third person? Best you "have ate"? Just as bad as people saying "I seen" instead of "I saw". At any rate you people need to pay for advertising or just admit you are trying to drum up business.

This sure makes me want some BBQ.. My nephew makes the best ribs ever. Too bad he lives way over in Louisiana by the great Mississippi River..Awww, his ribs were to die for..He said he got the recipe off the cooking channel...He also showed me how to make them..and he showed me how to cook corn on the cob ( microwave it in it's shucks..3 at a time..). YUMMY !!!! When we took our Florida vacation we stopped by a few days to visit..Yes, he can sure BBQ. It was the highlight of our trip..Even after seeing the Blue Angels fly in Florida...and swimming in the gulf..I want some of those Jimbo ribs...LOL

Grandad's is the best bbq in town in my opinion. He catered the Paris High Athletic Banquet last night and I've been by there in the past, too. For $6 you get a big hot toasted bun piled high with freshly chopped real smoked beef brisket, a 20oz sweet tea, and a side of homemade potato salad. It isn't a bunch of fatty grisly microwaved mystery meat floating in a vat of sauce served up on a cold bun. The potato salad isn't scooped out of a big econo-sized walmart carton, either. I like that they serve the sauce in a container on the side with to-go orders. Grandad's is in kindof a weird location there next to the Lighthouse Church, but with enough word of mouth and consistent excellent quality and service they should survive long enough to move somewhere else. Good job, Grandad's! You set the bar high for bbq here in town.

Me too. It's not quite fair to those who have the overhead costs and certificates required for running a restaurant business to let just any ol Tom, DICKS, or Harry's have their own little bbq catering business out of their home without requiring minimum health dept standards, certification, and inspection of their operations. It evens the playing field a bit and it helps to keep people from getting sick , too. How do the folks at the functions being catered by these shady clandestined under the radar businesses know if the place where the food was cooked has mice running around or dogs and cats in the house or that the food was prepared properly and kept at an appropriate temperature? I'm glad for the health department requiring certificates for catering businesses and inspecting! I'm glad they cracked down on a bunch of the mom and pop shady uncertified catering that was going on, too.
