Since this town is mostly older senior citizens, why isn't there any jobs for us? I have looked and looked for a job and there just are not any for my age. I know you can volunteer but you don't get paid and you have to buy your own gas. I believe the volunteers are taking away jobs from people like me who would like to work but also get paid. It doesn't have to be a lot of money, just enough to buy food and help with the bills because social security doesn't pay for everything. If anyone has any part time job for me i would apprecaite it and be very grateful for the opportunity. I can do lots of differnt jobs but no one will give me a chance. I have applied at the Dollar General stores,Just a Dollar and even merchandising jobs but same old story,we aren't hiring right now!! I have done several jobs in the past so if anyone needs help please let me know and leave me a message on here. Thanks :)

Why would a business or company pay an employee to do what the volunteers will do for free? I'm with you, the volunteers take away the chance for a paying part-time job.

What type of work are you qualified to do? What hours can you work? Do you have your own transportation? What salary would you expect? Can you provide references?

Its not just seniors. This economy is hard on all ages right now. I see teenagers posting all the time they are looking for a job. Set up an appointment with hiring partners. Thats your best bet. They can get you in their database. I know a man who is retired and he works part-time and he loves it. What type of work are you looking for?

Braum's on Bonham St has a sign on the door that they need part time help. That would be better than nothing.
