Can anyone talk about there experiences with Mr.Burchinal. Anybody who flew with have anything to say. Here is a link about the man. I wished I could have met him.

i forgot about the mustang. i thank you for looking that article up. he was a true texas character. my dad was a b17 pilot, 50 missions in the 15th air force(army air corps) out of naples. he bombed ploesti. his last time to fly was with sonny in a cessna i think. i was along. it meant so much to my old man. i swear junior flew that jet off that field.

He probably did. I will eat crow or maybe have some old crow and coke. Thanks again. To bad would could not petition the state to put a marker in front of the truck stop for Junior. Guess maybe I will send something to the state rep whoever is elected.

dont drink that. ill do you better. by the way the federal government put junior up for a time. look up seagoville. i didnt want to say. he was a well rounded guy. a man for his time. we all have to do what we have to do.

i guess i looked up ww2. i was born shortly thereafter. my dad killed some people. so i thought i should check it out.

Jr. Burchinal was well rounded alright. Ordained Baptist minister, lineman for Bell Telephone,drank his pay while others fed and clothed his young children, accomplished WWII warbird pilot and instructor. Taught sports figures and wealthy businessmen to fly the historic planes. Flew planes in several well known movies, performed at air shows across the nation. Owned the largest inventory of WWII planes in the world at one time. Featured in Wall Street Journal. Assisted drug cartels in learning how to dodge the radars. Spent time in San Angelo State for conspiracy. Fathered a child with a woman he was not married to. Raised that child at the expense of his 5 natural children. Had a close relationship with Eric Clifford. Had an extensive case history with IRS. Was a millionaire that lost it all on booze and women. Left this world old, lonely and broke. Yes, we should put a marker out on 82 West proclaiming how great a man he was. Can it be put in front of the shambled remains of the truck stop? He lived in that filth and swallor his last years. Hero? I think not. Facinating story, yes.

Yes, Junior had his flaws, but that is what Legends are made of. I saw him do things that could not be done. Like roll a B 26 into the dead engine. Fly a B 17 with three dead and one running engine. Sort out a wiring bundle on a T-33 jet that Einstien had designed. He made it run. He also set fire to the grass with one Jet. He was fun. He crashed more airplanes than John McCain!! And, he never got hurt. Best pilot I ever saw.
