Looks to me like Rhonda Rogers wants the program pulled and for some reason as she asked for the records to be pulled from the past five years because she can't understand that people do different things other than play ball and yes mothers do have problems finding people to watch their children Rhonda.

I think Rhonda has something against Steve and if Rhonda does then she needs to sweep it under her chair that sits at and let Steve handle the baseball because if it were not for Steve then those parks would be vacant or draw very little money as Steve does infact do a very good job drawing people into the baseball leagues in Paris Tx.

Steve is a very great coach and knows his business very well.

This was not an attack to Rhonda in any way but You as a leader of this city need to understand what economic downfall does to everyone in the sports and recration areas.

Play ball, fish, golf, watch auto racing or PAY THE ELECTRIC BILL,WATER,ETC,ETC.......

I pay my bills first and enjoy activities that I can afford and when you add a family into this equasion it gets slim real fast.

This is 2010 and not 1978 when a $100.00 would pack the truck of a electra duece in a quarter with groceries making it look a two ton truck now its 2010 and &100.00 worth of groceries can be taken to the car or pickup and set in the passengers floor board.

Again this was not an attack to Rhonda as you do you jo as you feel you should but prople are going to as they want.

I agree with you. Steve does a fantastic job. I don't know why Rhonda wanted to replace Steve. Might have something to do with who is in her ear ALL THE TIME! I think someone out there wants Steve's job for themselves. Lord help us LOL

We have a great adult program. It is growing every season. We have a new season starting up in a few weeks. In the summer league women can play on men's teams but the new coed league does not start up again until the fall. If you are interested in coed you should come out to the civic center on Friday nights and watch the games. Steve does a great job running the program and is working on getting more teams involved and getting the league to grow.

I don't remember where I read this, but it touched my heart.
There is a baseball team of older senior citizens. They get up and bat and then a younger person runs for them. Kids and seniors interacting and each helping the other.

I like this idea!

They don't have any tournaments here in Paris for Co-ed, just usually Men's tournaments. They have some in Dallas and Oklahoma but that's about it. They have Men's & Co-ed Leagues...

I think if you go back and listen to what was actually said at the council meeting where it was questioned was "do we take bids on this"? As in do we just go with Steve Coker or do we put it out for bids so that others might have a chance to bid? I agree that Steve appears to do a good job. The bid question was simple and not out of line in my opinion.

I never played ball in my life, but i want to try to learn. Do these teams take those kinds of players? Or is it too serious?

Seniors can get a team together and play. Older seniors hit the ball and younger ones run. What a nice way for young boys and girls to show appreciation for the seniors. Everyone has fun . Seniors get to relive some of their youth and young boys and girls feel good about themselves.

Great idea!
