I didn't know him, but I remember the incident. It happened just north of the loop on 271 N? It's sad that there are people in the world that are that evil to do something like that.

I knew Officer Roberts back when he worked at Gifford's Army Surplus before he decided to become a police officer. I know several people tried to talk him out of it when he made the decision to go to the academy. Officer Roberts was a dear friend of the family and great man.

I know at least one of the guys who shot him got the needle. Not sure about the other one. Weren't both of them hopped up on LSD or something at the time? Can't remember all the facts of the story.

I think it is really neat that his widow married his partner, Joe David Tuttle, and they have 3 kids. I guess Pam and David's son must be 24 or 25 now.

I remember hearing it all on the scanner that day. It has forever haunted me. Didn't know him personally but I think of that day often.

What's going on with his sister now? Do you know how she is doing and getting along?
