Details still unfolding, but apparently the guy owes a number of vendors quite a bit of money, such as COCA-COLA, to the extent deliveries were being made on CASH ONLY basis. Apparently two of his convenience stores have already closed and are chained and padlocked up.

What was he arrested for? Owing vendors is a civil matter, not a criminal one.

Yes, his refusal to pay his debts has nothing to do with the criminal charges he faces. Thanx Sherlock, you are a very good Dick Tracy.

What he's saying is that whatever it was, he wasn't just arrested for owing money. They can't arrest you just because you owe someone a bunch of money; there has to be a criminal element to it, and simply being in debt is not a crime.

Maybe this is the first step in restoring convenience stores to REAL AMERICANS and not a bunch of Middle Easterners (to be polite) who are taking over businesses nationwide.

While there are no longer any debtors prisons, unpaid merchandise could be considered theft of goods maybe?

I know of a business owner in another town that was charged with theft of service for not paying a vendor. Don't really know if they just didn't pay, couldn't pay or what, but got in trouble for it.

I know the crime rate was cut in half after the one on Clarksville next to the Dollar Store Closed. What's up with that?

Heard crackheads were bombarding the store buying those cheap roses in little glass bottles which were used as crack pipes.
