Does anyone if any other places will be having live music since I'm sure the Eagle's Lodge will be filled quickly? If you know where there will be other bands playing on New Years Eve and who is the featured band, please post with any other details you have knowledge of (ie. tickets needed, prices, is band worth the cost to get in, type of music, local talent or out of town ,etc) Thanks for any help.

Wade and his band are great. I saw advertised that Plain Label, Texas Express and Farewell Party will be there. I asked about this and was told that Billy had asked some of Gene Watsons guys to play that night with him. Wade was asked to take the booking when Billy passed away, so there will guys from each band backing Wade. Sounds great to me.

Wade White is THE BEST BAND ever. They should be professional, but they chose to be a hometown Christian family group instead. They are awesome people, too. Go see them and you will not regret it. Wade leads the music at the Cowboy Church besides playing on the weekends and doing many fundraisers for people in need.

Why is a songleader in a church allowed to sing honky tonk music in a BAR on New Years Eve, then lead singing in church on Sunday?
I like Wade as a person, but this is ridiculous!

No you don't have to be a member to attend, but if you want to drink you have to either be a member or have a member sign you in. That shouldn't be a problem though, most of the members are happy to help out.

Again, I like Wade as a person.
He is a talented Singer.
He is a good musician.
He is a good songwriter.
He has good intentions.
But, The Bible says: Astain from all apearance of evil. I Thessalonians 5:22
Honky Tonks are evil.
You don't have to go into one to find and reach sinners.
They think less of your faith when you go into a den of sin and sing sad songs to a greiving heart.
God has called us to righteousness.
He wants Wade to use his talent for Christ's sake alone.
God is a very jealous God.
Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous , is a jealous God:
And a true friend is jealous for his friend to not slip in his walk with God.
II Cor 11:2-3
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Sweetie and I hope you don't take that the wrong way,but have you ever thought that maybe he does that for extra money. Now days it take alot to raise a family and I'm sure the Lord wants him to provide for his. As hard as we try there was but one perfect one that has ever walked among us. What that about sinner casting the first stone?

I just pray that in my next life God will at least let me be able to carry a tune in a bucket.

Matthew 7

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Just so you will know.

Wade is the same person wherever he is. Always has been and always will be. Wade always saw playing in the "Honky Tonks" as a job, nothing more. Wade isn't a drinker, but doesn't look down on those who do. It isn't his place to judge. He always enjoys a good country song and loves to sing them. The thing he enjoyed most was playing dance music.

When he was called to lead the music at The Cowboy Church, he struggled with the fact that he played in the "Honky Tonks" (one of his "jobs") and didn't want anyone, such as yourself, to label him and perhaps put him or the church down, just as you have done. He doesn't feel that going to a "Honky Tonk" and dancing to a good country band is wrong....nor do I. I have found some of the best, giving people inside a "CLUB" and some of the most "self righteous" and "judgemental" inside a church.

Believe it or not, he actually witnessed to a young man, who had left his family, inside of a "Honky Tonk". This young man was saved and returned home to his family and they began going to church in their hometown. His wife wrote Wade a letter thanking him for being such a good example to her husband. Do you think maybe God allowed Wade to be there because he knew Wade was a good, honest, approachable person? I do.

Do you know how many people attend The Cowboy Church weekly because Wade invited them? People who have been saved, people who Wade met while singing in that "Honky Tonk".

Just so you will know however, he has actually quit playing in the Honky Tonks. Concerned for the congregation that he leads weekly in music was his main reason.

He is covering a booking on New Years Eve for his good friend, whom he loved and who loved Wade, Billy Ratliff. He covered one a few weeks ago at The Elks.

Seems to me in all I mentioned above, he is THINKING OF OTHERS and NOT looking around to judge.

MAYBE WE ALL SHOULD TRY A LITTLE MORE OF THAT.

Hey, B.T.

You can't just PREACH it, you have to LIVE it and you have not lived it and you know that.
Now Wade on the other hand has always been a great person. No drinking, no drugs. But that is ok, God uses us all in His way.

I sure hope he doesn't read this. This will really disappoint him to know YOU would post something like this about him.
