The city of Paris is installing a tornado siren behind Faught Sta. 2. on FM 195! Glad to see the city taking some initiative to its citizens on the outskirts of the city limits for a change!

IT IS THE CITY LIMITS,least you forget you annexed us into the city against our will. So I think it's only fair that you give us at least a few of the services we pay for.

The Faught Fire Dept.is in Faught Community which is about half mile from the fm.196 cut off that goes into Blossom. The Fire Dept that your talking about is in the Givens Community.

That station on the Northside of the road is Faught Sta. 2! They have their ladder truck and a brush truck there. The one just to the South West of there is Reno Sta. 2! They have an one engine. Reno's station is there because the Twin Lakes subdivision is in Reno city limits. I know it doesn't make scence 3 jurisdictions in that one area but blame the city of Paris for that!

PAYING TAXES ON 195 MANSI

ParisTxResident wrote: <quoted text> Excuse me but I did not vote to annex you into the city limits. I would hate to pay city taxes on those mansions that are built on 195. WELL since the taxes are issued on the cost of your home and yours seem not to be since you are complaining of the mansions on 195, you are not paying for their taxes but they are paying for theirs bringing in more income to the city to Paris than poor housing and don't worry about the mansions, I am sure they can afford their taxes.

It does seem odd to have three departments and two stations in such close proximity. Paris FD serves the houses and businesses within 500' of the center stripe of FM195. Also, all of The Hills except a few houses in the far back. RENO Sta. 2, which is inside the city limits of Reno serves the Twin Lakes area. Faught Sta. 2, which is inside Paris city limits serves Givens Road, from the second house on, the houses behind the Family Fun Center and all of Stillhouse Road past the nursing home on the left. All three departments have excellent response times to the areas they are responsible for and both the city and county dispatchers do a great job of getting the right people to the right place despite the patchwork of boundaries in that area.

If Faught & Reno has moved closer to Paris, does that mean that Paris is shrinking?

Faught community is at FM195 and FM196.. Faught VFD's district goes from the Paris city limits, eastward almost to Novice and East Post Oak, and boarders Powderly's district to the north and Blossom and Reno's districts to the south. By the way, Faught is far from being the largest fire district in the county.

There's lots of unincorporated area served by the rural FD's. Or didn't you know that? Also, I believe there is some sort of reciprocity. I know Faught sometimes responds to fires in Reno and vice versa.
