<quoted text>You are forgetting the circumstances. Romney was at a PRIVATE fund raising planning event with doners, an apparently at least one saboteur, present. This was not said during a public speech. The subject was how he could best capture the undecided vote. Romney said there was no use trying to (waste time and campaign funds) trying to presuade that 47% that were living off government benefits because they already had their minds made up. He spoke the truth and it makes sense to me that he would not spend scarce funds on trying to convince this 47%. The 47% could very well include older people on social security. The democrats always make sure to use the scare tactics to make vulnerable old people think they will lose their social security if a republican is elected in order to get their vote.
Unlike you, I am going to do you the courtesy of responding directly to the point of your post, instead of diverting into a screed on President Obama. Your statements and the point of your post is demonstrably false. By far, the largest percentage of the 47% Romney alluded to, reside in the south, and are 'low information' voters who historically vote for republicans, and are currently listing themselves as Romney supporters. So again, for you to say that Romney was just writing off citizens who would not vote for him anyway, is just not so. This fact is verifiable for you if you care to research it yourselof, instead of letting Fox News spoon feed you pre-digested pablum.

What none of you "conservatives" seem to realize while watching the video is that Romney just told you if elected that he is going to raise your taxes and start a war with Iran. If you didn't get that you better watch it again.

I re-read my post and I did not see Obama's name anywhere in the post. Can you point that out to me? How would I go about verifying the "low information voters" and that most of the 47% are going to vote for Romney? That is good news. I'm surprised he is not higher in the polls. From the information that you have provided we can count on 24% or more people living off the government to vote for Romney. In that case Romney still doesn't need to spend campaign funds on that 47% since over 24% are going to vote for him and he will not be able to change the minds of the remainder. BTW, I watch very little Fox news. I have the TV on for a maximum of 2 hours per day and I'm usually reading the papers during that 2 hours.

Lots and lots of people agree with him.
Heres the thing. Lots and lots of people agree with him just like you said because you think he was talking about black people or Mexicans or somebody like that. Black people make up about 13 or 14 percent of the population. Romney said 47% of the population are lazy begging losers so he's talking about you too. I think he has a lot of nerve talking like that about you since he doesnt pay his fair share of taxes. You paid a higher percent of taxes than he did.

"lazy begging losers " Your words not Romneys. It is pathetic that is all the liberals can find to talk about. They have to pick a statement like this apart over and over. Why are't they telling us what obama is doing while 20 countries in the middle east are burning and rioting because of their hatred for America. Why aren't you telling us what obama is going to do about creating an atmosphere that will make employers start hiring again? What about all of the corruption in the white house. Why aren't you talking about obama saying "you didn't build that." Why aren't you talking about obama wanting to redistribute wealth? Why aren't you talking about our credit rating being downgraded 3 times under obama's watch (AAA, AA+, AA-, AA)? Why aren't you talking about all of the class warfare and racial divide that obama has created and continues to pour fuel on? This very subject about a true statement that Romney made is an example of class warfare. I could go on and on about things that are important to American but you liberals choose to pick a subject that obama's opponent said about campaign strategy or how fast a mile was run. Pathetic.

I don't have a problem with Obama not renewing the "Bush" tax cuts. That's what we've lived under the past several years. How many jobs have trickeled down? Compare that to how many these businesses sent their jobs to foreign countries.
I find it funny that the republicans can complain about what Obama has not done, yet they all made a vow to make sure he was a one term president by not voting for anything he wanted. I say kick them all out.

Romney's statement added fuel to the class warfare fire. You thought it was funny when ya'll were picking everything President Obama said apart. It's not so funny when it's happening to your candidate is it? Romney's own VP pick did'nt back him on his statement. Most of his own party are backing away from him. He's not just a twit he's a full blown nit-wit.

It is obvious you have not paid enough taxes to even understand how the system works. You are dumber than a box of rocks which is just what osamabama counts on to keep all you little parasites in line. God you people are so stupid and you prove it with such conviction.
What about the year before that, and the year before that, and the.......I know exactly how the tax system works. Poor little Lexi, I love it when you throw your little fits and start calling names. You don't realize that you're part of the 47% that your boy Romney doesn't give a sh!+ about.

Haha Label me nuts and clueless, but put him in office and I will be singing I told you so! all over topix. When your earned income tax credits and mortgage tax credits get taken away I'll be singing. When Isreal talks him into a preemptive strike against Iran I'll be singing. Told you so!! So you go right on ahead and let your hatred of Obama guide you into the stupidest decision of your lives, You will deserve what you get. Just like you did when you got Bush. The problem is that the rest of us have to pay the price for your ignorance right along with you.

You are wrong. It is people like you and the liberal media that is pouring on the fuel. Why don't you talk about the disaster obama has made of this country? The fact that you would support such a failure says a lot about your ignorance. Why don't you bring all of the skeletons that obama has in his closet out into the open and pick them apart? Do you realize how little information that we know about obama? Information that we need to know but you are concerned about Romney's tax returns or a statement he made in a campaign strategy meeting. Obama is either unintelligent enough to let our economy and foreign affairs deterioate to this level or he has intentionally brought us to this point. Either way we are in a deep hole and need a new leader.

No sir--everyone doesn't have a 'different opinion' on what he meant. He meant what he said. And how you 'took it' is irrelevant to the truth. You need a quick course in the mathematics to which Bill Clinton referred in his speech. There is no way that you can get to 47% with just the people 'who have never paid income tax'. Of course you didn't hear about the ones who have worked all their life, paid taxes, and then became old and sick-- or like the young woman who posted earlier--a grandparent who is forced to spend down all their assests and then go on Medicaid in order to afford a nursing home. In order to get to 47%--mitten's number--you are going to have to roll in retirees on Social Security, Veteran's, military personnel, Medicare and Medicaid recipients, students, and a whole bunch of other people. Are you really obtuse enough to think that you can get to 47%--half of the population--with just non-tax paying deadbeats? Get you head out of your ass and realize that if you are on Medicare or Social Security, Mitt is talking about YOU!!!!
I'm not the one with my head up his ass. You are a fool if you think Romney is not concerned with voters over age 65. He talks about the 47% in terms of the fact he can't get their vote anyway because his platform of lower taxes does not resonate with these voters. He has obviously courted the senior vote by bringing Medicare reform front and center. Romney needs to stand firm. He is saying exactly what even the media has been talking about, the tipping point. Meanwhile US credit was downgraded by another agency. department of DOJ embarrassed by recent investgation, attack in Egypt found to be connected to attempt to get the "Blind Sheik" released even after Obama administration stated it was only related to utube trailer, and US foreign policy is falling apart in the Middle East. All much more important issues to discuss than something Romney said in May. Something that was true.
