Why doesnt the person just kill themselves instead of taking defenseless kids? Being a dad i couldnt ever imagine having this happening to mine or anybodys child breaks my heart how someone could have so much hate

It's pathetic that these cowards take out their anger and self-loathing on innocent people like this. Children at that! How cowardly can a person get?

It's about time to allow teachers to carry firearms so they can stop these kind of incidences before they get out of hand. Or have the principals and vice principals armed.

At the very least there should be one armed security guard, and limited entrances/access to school buildings.

Places like schools are just magnets for cowards like this, since they want helpless victims.

Some parent's have lost what can never be replaced nor helped by prayers. Parents should demand better security for children, or else homeschool.

"nor helped by prayers" Really! Even with a tragedy like this you have to invoke your anti-chirstian views to incite anger. If you're looking for an agruement please find another topic to exploit.

My prayers go out to all those affected by the shootings in Connecticut, today!

I was also disgusted to see them talking to some of the kids. The news need to leave this alone. Seems as if the media wants to reveal all the gory details of what happened and to describe the scene in the school and all that happened as this took place. We do not want to know all this. This is very distasteful to the parents and the families who all lost loved ones to an idiot out of control. There is no way it can be stopped. They talk about gun control. That itself is a joke. There are so many guns out there in the world that belong to people who have license and what happens? Some nut takes the guns and kills people!! I was wondering myself why someone didn't stop him before he killed so many? Where was the principal, the male school teachers, etc?? I do agree that the best way to protect our children at school is to make sure the principal or someone in the school is armed and knows how to use a gun. This is all very sad and i can only pray it never happens to any of my family. You never know if you go to the mall or a movie or even church if you are gonna be safe. I go fishing a lot and i do carry my gun because there are crazy people out there everywhere. God Bless all these families and i pray they will get thru this. 20 little Angels went to Heaven yesterday and Jesus will hold them in his arms forever.

Your reply is one of the most asinine statements I have ever read. You truly are detached from the real world or you don't know how to articulate your thought process very well. What happened is atrocious and inconceivable. It is the most devastating that has ever happened at a school just because of the ages of the victims. Travesty isn't strong enough to describe. Whether you believe that prayer works or not is your own belief. It's not to throw on other folks either way. God was there for the good and bad. He knew it was going to happen and let it happen for a reason. It's not for you to ask a question. That's the rules like it or not. I don't see it in the grand scheme of things but that's the way it goes.

Jarred Viktor aged 15 (Paxil), after five days on Paxil he stabbed his grandmother 61 times.

Chris Shanahan aged 15 (Paxil) in Rigby, ID who out of the blue killed a woman.

Eric Harris aged 17 (Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 in Colombine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado, killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and injured 23 others, before killing themselves.

Jeff Franklin (Prozac and Ritalin), Huntsville, AL, killed his parents as they came home from work using a sledge hammer, hatchet, butcher knife and mechanic's file, then attacked his younger brothers and sister

Neal Furrow,(Prozac) in LA Jewish school shooting reported to have been court-ordered to be on Prozac along with several other medications.

Cory Baadesgaard (Paxil then 300 mgs Effexor) in Matawa, WA school shooting. This was not long after being taken off Paxil cold turkey and changed over to Effexor.

Shawn Cooper of Notus, aged 15 (SSRI and Ritalin) took a 12 gauge shot gun to school and started firing, injuring one student and holding the school hostage for about 20 mins.

There have been further similar cases of children and teenagers involved in homicides while on prescription psychotropic drugs, though the book was already published by that time:

Jeff Weise, 16,(PROZAC) Minnesota School Shootings March 2005, killed his Grandfather and Grandmother, then went on a rampage at the school killing a teacher, a security officer, 5 students (and wounding 7 others, 2 critically), before exchanging gunfire with police and then shooting himself.

Christopher Pittman, aged 12,(Paxil then Zoloft). Known amongst family as 'pop-pops shadow', he had always been very close to his grandfather. Shortly after being prescribed Zoloft he shot both his grandparents dead and burned the house down.

...and the list goes on...
