This is a hard post to make as I grew up around Charlie and we rode bicycles and motorcycles years and years ago in N.E. Paris.

Charlie was one of my best freind I have ever had and will never be replaced.

Charlie had a heart of gold that shined and would help out anyone and not to mention a heck of a hard worker who enjoyed still playing in the mud and dirt as we did when we were kids and he enjoyed his business.

I talked to Charkie not long ago and we went over over our past as kids and teenagers and I couldn't do anything but smile and laugh with Charlie about the many times were on Lamar Ave burning up the payvment in his white one ton and playing in the mud a kids.

Toward the end of our conversation after we discussed our families and how much we enjoyed them Charlie talked to me about the lord and invited me to church with him but I din't make church with Charlie but I sure remember what he spoke to me about that day and I will miss ole Charlie and the wave from that big ole hand as we passed.

I will say this because I know this to be true that Charlie is standing where alot of use won't and I use words that I shouldn't but that entire conversation Charlie never used a foul work and spoke as he was in peace because he told me to make peace and to find our Charlie is gone is upsetting but I know where my life long freind stands right now.

R I P Charlie

God bless the entire Filkins family.

I knew Charlie casually, but he treated me like a long-time friend, as I'm sure he did most folks. Am praying for his family.

(We did not know him as Crazy Charlie, but as our neighbor John. My son who is 9 is really shocked that Charlie has passed. We did not know of the death until after the funeral. We are truly sorry for your loss. When I read about how good of a guy he was and how he would help anyone, I believe it. I remember one night we had just purchased a new washer and dryer. My husband and I did not know how we were going to get it out of our truck. John out of the goodness of his heart stopped by with a dolly and even offered to help get them in the house. He also had invited my son over to ride his four wheeler out in his field, we never did get around to that, but I truly think he was a guy with a big heart. Our prayers go out to his family.)who="ParisTxResid ent"]John Charles
