My daughter went to Little Rascals on Clarksville Street over by PJC before she started school. She loved it. Still runs to any of the workers she sees when we are out in Walmart, etc. Building is not the greatest but Amanda, the owner, is the sweetest and loves children.

Amanda will allow you to come in and observe if you would like. I did. Took my daugther the second time so she could see where she would be saying and who she would be staying with in advance to help make the first day easier.

I think you should start by asking if there are places in town that are NOT recommended. It helps to make a decision of that importance with knowledge of how others were treated by someone.

there is a state website where you can see everytime any licensed daycare in the area has been written up. i can't remember the site but i used it when looking for a daycare for my daugther. A good daycare will share those reports with you and even give you the website address. most the reports are for paperwork not in order to shot records not up to date. but some well....there's abuse, not reporting serious injuries, etc.

If you are financially challenged, as most of us are these days, one of the churches has a "latch key" thing and pick kids up at school.

I have found the website to be ineffective. In a town this size.. word of mouth is much more effective. If there is a bad experience somewhere it is helpful to know about it. I care much more about how children and parents are treated than if paperwork was filed on time. I have several legitimate experiences with a daycare that would not be considered "abuse" but if I had known before.. I would never had utilized there daycare. I don't want to encourage people to not research for themselves and formulate their own opinions, but other peoples experiences are VALID.

i think you can hear good and bad from just about every daycare. I and my daughter loved Little Rascals but another lady I know did not. Just be sure you visit whichever one you are considering more than once and make sure you feel good about your decision. If not, keep looking.

just don't use BB in reno. We had really bad experience. and employees are very unprofessional. Don 't know if they are owners or family members of owners but really really unprofessional.

DO NOT take your child to Blossom's Blooms Learning Center in Reno next to the Sonic. The owners daughter is aweful...asst.manager I guess you can call her. On top of being rude, she cusses like a sailor, talks sh)t about the parents behind their backs, and lets her daughter run wild all over that place. The mother (manager/owner) is the spawn of Satan himself. OMG..she is evil.

Lamar Avenue Church of Christ has the "latch key" program. Can't remember what the requirements are, but you can call them for more info if you need it.

yes, Lamar Ave Church of Christ has an awesome program. Its afterschool "latch key" through grades 5. Openings depend on van space available for each school. We loved it until the kids got to old to go there. highly recommend it.

My daughter is 3 yrs old. I am hoping to find a place that will help her get ready for Pre-K. I dont want to take her to a place that just sits them in front of the TV or just lets them play all day. I want her to be learning, singing, art activities and such.......

My child goes to Episcopal Day School on Church Street. She loves it, and since they are Montessori based, she is learning so much! I am very happy with the school, and the staff is very professional. I highly recommend them!

Thank you! I have done some research on Montesorri programs and I think my daughter and I would love it! I didn't know there was one in Paris....what are the rates?

The best daycare is ABC Learning Center. Whatever you DO NOT go to Lollipop or Buttons and Bows, you will regret it. My son goes to ABC and has been for 2 years and he has never cried when we leave him. He will cry if he can not go. Mr. Shawn is wonderful (he owns ABC along with his wife Michelle.) They are terrific. Space there is always limited though. Good luck with whomever you choose.

For 5 days/week it is about $325/month... but you have to send her lunch every day. It is well worth the money. She is very advanced over other kids her age, and I completly feel like it is because of this program. You should call if you are interested, because their spots always fill up quick.

My child went to EDS too, and learned SO much. I think they may be full but it sure wouldn't hurt to call and be put on their waiting list. It's great.

my kids went to ABC and we loved it. Not sure how it is without mrs judy. we loved her. I totally agree about BB in reno. I have some bad stories from there. I am surprised they still have a license.
