I thought it was a very nice party and a lot of people went to a great deal of work to pull it off. Thanks to all of them! Decorations were lovely. Auction items were nice. Hors d'oeurves were delicious, especially the stuffed shrimp. Salad was good. Main dish was mediocre but, overall, okay for banquet food. Congratulations to Dr. and Mrs. Bercher for the award they received. They have been a real asset to our community since 1970. A person sitting at our table made a derrogatory comment about attorneys while my husband was away from the table. I'm sure he didn't realize until my husband sat down that I was the wife of a lawyer and I didn't find his criticism amusing. That kind of ruined dinner for me. But we got through it and are no worse for the wear. I'm sure those who enjoy that type of thing had a big time. Just not my cup of tea and I'm glad I don't have to go for another year.

I'm sorry to hear about the insensitive comment. Sounds like the public doesn’t differ from this forum of bloggers.

Always saying derogatory comments. I try to always be positive. It ruins it for all of us.

Yes because we all know being a lawyer or lawyer's wife means you must be classy. It's 'class action', not 'classy'.:)

You might be surprised who reads and posts here. Sorry I'm not "classy" enough for you. I just never filled that mold, I guess.

Elvis was Donnie Williams, and he did a phenomenal job! I thought the gala was nice, the food was excellent, and like Galagoer, I am thankful I don't have to go again for at least another year!

I went to the gala this year and had a fabulous time!!!! I can't wait for next year. The decor. was great, the food was pretty good, the music was okay. The atmosphere overall was very festive and lively. Great job to all involved!!!(All the wine was good, too.)

Just because you are a lawyer's wife does not necessarily make you classy. That is a generalization. I think you would be surprised who is on Topix....ah, the thrill of anonymity- may have spelled that wrong - before the spelling police strike

Apparently you have designated yourself as the arbiter of class and good taste. Have you done a self exam lately?

I think most everyone there had a good time. I am glad to see some of Paris kick up its heels and have a good clean decent time. Sorry there has to be some haters for even that too. I don't understand why some people just can't be nice. Gotta sling it!!!
