Has anyone gotten a cable bill that has gone up? I am so tired of suddenlink and if just because I have had them to my house so many times they have gone up.....well I'm talking to a lawyer.

In the November bill it stated that certain services would be going up...a dollar here, a dollar there, mine personnally only went up less than $5.00.

So why haven't you switched to satellite? But then again, you might not have anything to gripe about if you did that.

Because I would have to have 2. We may still do that, how is the internet service with satellite? When I pay almost $200.00 a month I think I have the right to gripe when I don't get what I pay for. The government must be paying for yours.

I have direct tv and have 5 receivers - my hubby travels and he has one on our camper - I pay about 150 a month but we have every channel and game lounge on two of our receivers - I dont watch much tv but play game lounge when my kids are playing it. I do not like Dish network - my inlaws hve it and I usually have to call dish if there is a prob. Usually they are rude and I cant hear what they are saying. Direct will jump through hoops to help. I had suddenlink but they went up on services and the internet was crazy I was on EVERY junk mail list there was and suddenlink said it was my fault I signed up for everything - I only used my internet to check my school email and send pics to grandparents of kids.... good luck to you

I don't know what all you have, but we have digital cable with dvr and internet and only pay like $120 a month! I have a few problems with them, but they are always quick to help when needed! As for the bill going up, the price that they pay is going up, so it's only fitting that our price goes up as well! There are other options for cable and internet. What are you getting a lawyer for? What exactly are you wanting from them?

Just curious - how many channels do you get and how is your digital cable? Did they provide equipment? What about HD tv?? Thanks!

We get about 120 which includes like 15 or some odd HD channels that comes with it. You can purchase an HD package seperately, we just chose not to. We have a playstation 3 which plays blueray discs and we also have an xbox that plays hd discs also! We don't have any trouble with cable. They did provide the dvr box that plays the digital cable. That's only one box though. You can get more boxes for more per month. I'm just cheap, so that's all that I have. They offer much more than that though! Good luck! We tried DirecTV and were not happy with it. We went back to Suddenlink! I also like the fact that when it rains, I still have cable while those with satellite don't!

I have had a couple of problems with mine doing that here lately. I'm taking mine back to them and getting another one. I've had to do this once before in the years that I've been with them. I don't know how those things work on the inside, but I wish they were better. A friend of mine has a dvr through DirecTV and they've had to get 5 new ones in the last year and had to wait weeks to get it because there's not an office here!

AT&T offers DirectTV and internet for less than $100 a month. That is including HD, DVR, and their premium internet service.

Our Suddenlink bill went up about $6 this time. We have phone, internet and tv, but not any show channels or extras. If they told us they were going up, I didn't read it, they stuff the envelope with so much paper now, I just take the bill and pay it. Sure wish the internet was high-speed like they say it is. Ours takes forever to load and make any changes I click on.

I am not impressed by their internet service so far. They claim to be the fastest thing in the area, but I have had DSL in the past that seemed to go faster and had fewer freeze ups. I'm trying it out now, but may change in the future. Are there any decent alternatives in Paris?

This is the order I would rate according to what is available in the area starting with the fastest...

DSL, cable, wireless, satellite, dial-up

DSL is the best in this area. You get TRUE throuput and you do not share it with others. Your DSL like connects directly to the phone company CO and is not "looped" to other houses in the area. Cable and satellite are "shared" services. The more people you have in your neighborhood that use cable internet the slower it will be.

In MANY cases wireless may be faster than cable depending on the number of users, etc. but it can be more touble to get going as you may have to invest in expensive equipment and or a antenna tower and external antenna if the signal isn't strong enough. That's why I listed it behind cable.

Same thing goes for satellite. The more people who are on the same transponder that you are on will slow the service down. That's why it is faster during the middle of the day when not as many people are online versus at night when everyone is at home surfing the internet.

I didn't know that. I always thought cable was faster than DSL. I think DSL may be cheaper. I will sure check them out. Where do you even start to get DSL,<<< call the phone company?

You can check via your home phone number on the at&t website to see if it is available where you live.
