To those whom say take the guns i have this to say.Taking guns away from the masses has always worked so well for other nations right? Hitler Polpot Mao Tse-tung Stalin the butcher of cambodia and the list really does go on and on.

The answer as much as many of you fail to see it is the country as a whole is only here because braver folks than many of you in this forum not only own arms but have stood toe to toe with the enemy's of this great nation and fought for your liberty and defended you with one. The only thing that kept Japan from attacking the mainland was that they knew full well we are armed. Should you feel that you or your family isn't worth protecting or for that matter you just don't agree that is fine.

However for those of us who have fought for YOUR freedoms, we will fight for OUR freedom as well as your since clearly you can't be trusted in doing so. What would you ban next cars? hammers ? People are killed daily by such items. Its ok that you are ignorant to what keeps this country free but please stay out of my way so I can defend you even if you don't deserve my efforts. The cost of freedom is constant vigulince.

We can all agree that the innocent deaths by guns is awful but getting the good guys to give up there arms only gives the power to thugs. If you won't defend yourself you deserve what follows. Some of you really need a history lesson. Everything Hitler and the like did was not only legal but supported by enemies of free men. If you feel yourself choking on the sweet taste of freedom might i suggest china as they seem to like slaves Thank you

Mr so called patriot , no body is talking about taking your guns away, just outlawing alsault rifles so crazy people cant get one and see how any people they can kill. And if you ever read anything besides right wing pro gun propaganda you would know that the USA was woefully under armed at the beginning of WW2 and that solders were guarding the west coast with wooden rifles. The thing that kept the Japanese from invading the west cost is the Pacific Ocean. Cars and hammers have other uses beside harming others. Assault rifles only have one propose, to kill people

They help people protect their families from hoards of crazy nuts like you! haha THAT is why certain people fear useful weapons in the hands of citizens, because they actually want to harm those citizens and control them after they are disarmed.

Gun control is about "people control", never has been any other reason for it. The general public might not be very bright, but even the dimmer Democrats see through the propaganda that you're parroting and are fighting back against gun control.

Guns are the heart of America, and a tie that binds and unites all people, rich or poor, Republican or Democrat, all races, all backgrounds.

Mr Patriot is right, and yes the current laws being proposed include banning outright over 150 different types of the more commonly bought firearms, and gives leeway to ban over 1,500 others, mostly handguns, when combined with the executive orders that were passed. The executive orders allow even more expansion to the laws once they are passed, so there is no end to the laws.

A national database of gunowners was one of the executive orders, and coupled with mandatory background checks, is a backdoor registration scheme the gun grabbers have been trying to get for a while now.

In New York state over 90% of firearms are now illegal to own after this year.

Oh, and your history needs some correcting as well. The Japanese DID invade the west coast, in Alaska, but the emporer and the main generals were quoted as to their main reason for not invading (check any history book) and that was the fact that they'd have to fight house to house a guerilla type war with the well armed American people, and they could never win a war like that. Very smart of them, as America still hasn't learned that lesson, just look at Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc.

Here is something that will make you wet your pants in your dreams I bet. Just think, Americans are MUCH better armed today, and much more numerous as well.

To claim the Pacific Ocean was a deterrant to the island nation of Japan is beyond LAUGHABLE!!!!!!!! They bombed Pearl Harbor with ease, and controlled most all of the Pacific during the war! Holy Geez how clueless are you??????? hahahahaha

I'm not as stupid as you if you think 2 small islands in the Aleutian chain is anywhere near the west coast. I would like to know where you found that quote from the japanese generals. Sounds like your pulling stuff out of your butt to me. O and Hawaii is only half way a cross the Pacific and I haven't heard of any invasion being planed by anybody and if there was one I would hate to think you and your nut buddy's had to stop it.

"You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass". Admiral Yamamoto

There is the quote you so shamelessly claim doesn't exist. So now that it's proven that you speak from your own hip and not what history has provided you can do us all a favor and just be quite on this one. I know my history but you have now proven for a fact that you do not. Maybe you should also read The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Another fine example of the tyranny at hand. If you need more history lessons you just let me know as I would be happy to educate you.
I can do this all day as I have facts and not just talk. Also as far as being a patriot I have served this nation proudly with the USMC while you sat on your butt I have actually seen combat not just talked about defending this nation. So what ya got now? I did 6 tours of duty. Bet the last tour you went on was to walmart. Stick to your day job cause fighting behind that keyboard is still a losing battle for you . The more you argue this the more a coward you look like

One more thing. I will pass along something a family member passed along many years ago to me and it still rings true today. When people lose everything and have nothing left to lose , they lose it. Something for you to think about.

Also I'm neither a democrat or a republican . I'm an AMERICAN. I do not agree with either sides politics as both parties have went the same way as the roman empire . It's a false 2 party system but with your lack of knowledge on the history front that too may be over your head.

Looked all over Wikipedia still couldn't find it dude. You got a source? Are maybe you just made it up? I got a quote for you "patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel " Samuel Johnson. You find that one. Maybe you got that PTSD or maybe just trying to get you a check started

I can afford that one lose of quotes since again we have all of histories experience of what happens when government does gun control. Let us look at the numbers shall we.
Hitler did gun confiscations ahead of death camps. Stalin did it to just before the onset of the great purge. The butcher of Cambodia just before what he referred to as the removal of thought. Polpot before the cleansing as he referred to it. Should I stop there since I bet you can't discredit those? The number 1 cause in unnatural death on this planet is democide.

Which is government run genocide. So you got one quote that I can't prove. Yet 260 million people have lost there lives to this madness and you still think removing guns from the good will somehow balance this and that was just the 20th century alone. Way to go by finding the ONLY quote I can't prove.

Funny you folks are always the same argue the merit of one point and focus on it in hopes to kill the messenger. You failed though since the only comeback you had was whether or not that one quote was proven or not. I notice you had nothing else to come back with and had to result to personel attacks on my character .. Seems your rookie at debating.
