By U.S. Department of Justice
May 18, 2011

PLANO, Texas – A 52-year-old Paris, Texas podiatrist has pleaded guilty to federal health care fraud charges in the Eastern District of Texas announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

William Goldman pleaded guilty to health care fraud today before U.S. Magistrate Judge Don Bush.

According to information presented in court, Goldman submitted false claims to Medicare and Medicaid from 2003 to 2008 from surgeries he never performed. Goldman was indicted by a federal grand jury on Apr. 15, 2010.

Goldman faces up to two years in federal prison. He also faces forfeiture of $350,000.00, along with his podiatry license. A sentencing date has not been set.

This case is being investigated by the FBI, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – Office of the Inspector General (HHS-OIG), and the Texas Office of the Attorney General – Medicaid Fraud Control Unit (OAG-MFCU) and prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Howard Blackmon

Wow. Was his office on collegiate north of 82?
And again wow. How can you bill surgeries you don't do and expect to get away with it?

He is on Collegiate.
He's also the one many years ago that got into some kind of trouble concerning drugs. Don't remember the details, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go to him or take anyone in my family.

All I can say is that he was very nice to me and did not do or bill my insurance for any surgery. I would have gone to him again had I have needed him but his
recommendation on how to treat my foot problem without drugs worked. This information makes me sad.

Up to 60 Billion a YEAR paid out on fraudulant health care claims through Medicare. Maybe, if these crooks were subjected to more thorough policing, this wouldn't happen. Always somebody out there that abuses a system meant to help. No wonder Medicare is in such a bad way!!

they were both arrested at one time on drug charges. goldman crashed his 4 wheeler on cobb ranch road a few years ago and was found early one sunday morning by a passing motorist. later he claimed to have fallen at the elks lodge and tried to make a claim against the lodge.

Correction: Dr. Max Weinberg was who I mean't to put. I had just taken my grandfather to an a appt. with Dr. Wikoff. I apologize for not paying more attention to what I had commented. Dr. Wikoff is a wonderful doctor and I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Goldman helped me with my foot problem and was very nice when I upfront told him I was looking for a non pharmaceutical remedy. His advice fixed my problem and the charge was reasonable. I also have a friend that he performed surgery on and fixed that problem. I was sad to hear this. I liked him.

Unfortunate but Goldman has a long history of being involved in drugs. Just a shady guy how he got off of the cocaine bust back a few years without losing his license is beyond me.

What is unfortunate is if this scheister is still in practice. He committed fraud with his girlfriend that ran the office. I hope to hell that he is far far away. He was so messed up on drugs his brain was fried and dont know why anyone would let him near them anyway.
