Have gone to the Biker's Church on Tuesday nights and preacher Ronnie Ross is very interesting to listen to. There is a 'pot luck' dinner at 6:pm for anyone attending then they have live music before & after the short service. Quite often the Church will feature the Carl Cullum band which are really impressive and great to hear. Worth the visit. Come out this Tuesday evening. Everything is over by 8:30. This is a non-formal gathering and you don't have to ride or even own a motorcycle.(Non Denominational)

The Bikers Church is at 3900 SE Loop in the metal building that "Grand- Dads BBQ was in. It's next door to the church that used to be the Red Barn Steakhouse close to the Hwy 905 turnoff. There is a sign in front.

. I go to a denominational church on wed. and sundays. I go to the biker church on tuesday nights. To try to answer your question. There is over 150 churches inside the Paris city limits. You do have a valid point. As christian.s it would seem we could reach a more common goal and gather together more to worship the same Lord and Saviour we all ckaim to serve. I would love to see this happen more. With that said I would like to offer another side of the coin. Alot of people go to Braums for the sole purpose of buying ice cream. Not everyone of them wants vanilla. As a matter of fact you couldnt even narrow it down to vanilla , chocolate and strawberry and expect to please everyone. They are all ice cream lovers but they all have a different taste for what they want. All christians are serving the same God. They just have a different way or "taste" of doing it. It really doesnt become a problem until someone wants to argue that more vanila is sold than peppermint so it must be better. Same thing in the church.
I understand your comment was meant to be negative but as a christian I hope you can understand we christians are just blundering thru this world doing the best we can. We still make mistakes and we will continue to do so. We are not perfect, we just serve a perfect God. Yes there is division between denominations sometime but I have great hope that as we mature in Christ we will begin to see our brother is our brother. Our sister is our sister. Doesnt matter the house he/she dwells in. The biker church is a church that is full of people that are trying to serve the Lord the best way they can. Many of us dont look like we would fit in to a church that enjoys wearing suits and ties. We dont have a problem with that. We dont have a problem with you visiting us anytime you choose either. Come as you are. Thats exactly what Jesus says to each of us.

What does fit in mean? Aren't you supposed to wear your best to worship in the house of the Lord? If your best is a t shirt and cutoffs thats your best. Suits and ties are clothes just like the rest of attire that is ones best. I think it is wrong for rich only churches and rag only churches. It's about worshiping, not the i am like them thoughts. Worship is a personal act, not a entertainment show for someone to feel good about themselves due to other peoples looks and attitudes. I don't think a person should feel they don't "fit" in anywhere. That is a personal problem that will cause you to fail at all levels of life.

Where did you get the idea that one should wear their best to worship? Thats just another man-induced piece of information. Your heart should be set to worship, and one should certainly not dress in a sexually provocative manner when going to church.

You spend quite a lot of your life 'guessing', don't you.

Try not to let the idea of this different approach to worship bother you so nuch. There are many people like yourself wandering the earth in great torment and fear that will often feel the urge to make an unprovoked attack on something they are scared of or don't understand.
You will be welcome there if ever you can overcome this anguish you have displayed, or better yet, maybe they can even help.

I must say a lot of interesting comments on this page. I don't know a lot but I do know this. God is God. His word does not change. It still means the same today as it did when he created mankind. God loves the prostitute as much as he loves the banker in his $500 suit. A lot of churches try to change the word of God to fit what they believe. To me that is like spitting into the wind. It will blow back into your face. The wife and I go to a nondenominational church. Most of the men wear suits and the women nice dresses. We wear jeans T shirts and our colors and we are always welcomed with open arms. There is not a person in our church that fails to shake our hand and hug us every service.

(and I do not own nor can I ride a motorcycle.)
