It is candida or a yeast infection. As for drying off......most larger people or even smaller ones with large breasts - especially if over the age of 40 - guess what, it doesn't matter how well we DRY off, we perspire and it gets moist again. Overweight and those that are diabetic are especially at risk of developing a yeast infection. There are nystatin powders that can be used (I believe they are rx) but they help as well. Anything that works for a fungal infection will help. Also cut down or eliminate sugar from your diet and eat dairy products are have live bacteria in them. ie yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. Just make sure you read label and make sure they contain LIVE cultures.

Hi: I also have the same problem with sores under my breasts especially if I dont dry them completely. I did find however that stick deodorant worked quite well under the breasts & between the legs, anywhere that sweats.

Thank you everyone for your very good information and products to use to help! I could wash twice a day and nothing seemed to help! All my gyn would say each year is keep the area dry, not that is was a yeast of some kind! Now that I know that it is a slight infection, I will definitely buy the Gold Bond and other recommended products!
To those who don't know....you try holding approximately 10-15 pounds of flesh in front of you all day, that you cannot remove and are always in your way! Tell how that would ruin your day!

I am 5/5 140 pd and am a 36 E all natural and they suck !!!! All of you men need to stop with the lies. I can come out in my pjs with no makeup and hair wild and guys still stare at my chest. lol
Ladies I have not had the sores or rash but do have the other problems. I had some other issues and have been researching overabundance of yeast in the body. It does cause rash and sore or fungus under the breast along with a ton of other problems. It has nothing to do with cleanliness. There are many causes I was given IV antibiotics for about 4 months. I am just about sure after researching that yeast is the cause of my problems. Depression, fatigue, blood sugar problems, weight gain, headaches and lots of other symptoms. It may not be your problem but is worth checking out.

Ya know, a lot of elderly people wear themselves out just to take a bath. They have arthritis, pain when moving their arms, many become short of breath just from the bath and most don't see well. Things hang lower than when they were younger. They aren't nasty. Some just miss parts when drying off. The moisture in the folds causes yeast to grow. It doesn't mean they are nasty. I bet you have probably had at some point a rash, a boil or abscess, a wart, a yeast infection, or even acne but that doesn't make you nasty.
I am so glad SOMEONE made this very good point.

Ive used powdered starch in the past (summer months- skin under the breasts becomes raw). Apply the starch 3x a day. You'll heal fast. Also, I've used deodorant to keep the area dry n smelling good. I have big boobs (DD) and haven't had problems ever. Bn applying deodorant to avoid developing a rash underneath my breasts.

Take a bath! Wash between them rolls! Fungus doesn't grow instantly!
Listen here Brotha you haven't a clue. I shower daily use powder and nystatin powder with baby powder. Use Viva paper towel etc. The minute I get home off goes the bra and the wet toilet paper. I'd love a breast reduction. Want to pay for it?

Mine is raw (like no skin), I've never had it this bad. I've tried powder, cornstarch, cortisone cream, Neosporin & I'm currently using Destin for diaper rash. It's been this way for weeks. It will get a little better & then get worse again. I'm assuming y'all are only using the deodorant as a preventative measure & not when open? Has anyone else ever had theirs get this bad or last this long? Thanks.

It's actually not called a boil.. A boil is mostly caused by hair follicles and will get red and puffy and hard sometimes with a head or several depending in the size.. What she is talking about is the sores caused by sweat and moisture staying trapped beneath ur breasts when they hang.. Bigger people also get this on their panty line between the legs.. Yes it is gross but wouldn't you rather ppl kno how to fix it rather than let it smell and hurt? My grandmother was a larger woman.. She used to use rubbin alcohol then powder.. Under her boobs between her legs and in her arm pits.. Anywhere that moisture gets trapped is where shed put it. Now this was to prevent the rawness.. I wouldn't attempt it while it's raw cuz it's gonna burn like hell.. But corn starch will help with soaking up the moisture throughout the day as well.. Don't use scented soap and it sounds stupid but the more you wash it .. The more it smells... What happens is you actually end up washing away the natural bacteria that fights off the nasty ones.. So only wash once a day! Or once in the morning and once at night.
A note of caution with corn starch and yeast (which is what breeds in the moisture areas and causes the sores etc). Yeast lives on starch so if you use corn starch based powders you are feeding the problem. Use talc or non-starch based products instead; not recommended for bikini area though.
