Does anyone know what's going to go onto the recently sold lot next to Taco Bell on Mineral Wells? It's supposed to be a restaurant.

AS EX-SMOKER, AND HAVING WITNESSED FRIENDS DYING OF LUNG CANCER, ALL SMOKERS NEED HELP STOPPING. THEY ARE ADDICTS AND NEED HELP. THE BEST SOLUTION IS TO STOP SMOKING. I LOVE FRESH AIR.
STOP. JUST STOP.

PSSSSS- IT'S CRACKER BARRELL. OH, YEAH.

Sorry you are so bitter, Mr. Wadd. Maybe you should try again. Ask to sit in the "no preaching" section. Don't give up!

Are you serious? Cracker Barrel?! That would be great! I have read many of the posts and have a question for Mr. Wadd ( oh,puh-leeze..) and Jim Jones. Are you two related? Your comments are both so much bellyaching without any specific facts to back up your complaints. Are your lives really so pissy that you have nothing positive to say?

Jim, I haven't lived here long, but so far, I really like it.Why do you say "this town is a joke"? What about Mr. Wadd's comments do you see as "common sense"?

Actually, I am from a very large city. "You would not understand" is usually a justification used by people whose arguments have more emotion than fact behind them. I suspect this is the case with you. I really was interested in the basis for your views, but if you don't care to explain them, so be it.

Mr Wadd, I don't feel as caustic as you do about the "adult" entertainment businesses, but I completely agree that we could do without them. They serve no constructive purpose, and contribute to the self-destruction of the "client" and the young women who work there. They also contribute to the drug problem here I imagine.
What specifically is your church doing to close down these businesses?"We can get away with whatever we want" is a powerful statement- what did you mean by that please?

Henry County didn't anticipate these shops opening, thus, never had regulations set up to prevent them from opening.
Someone left the gate open and Satin walked in.

We now ask Lee Greer, County Attorney, to do whatever need be done to stop it. If you don't know your county commissioner's name, learn it. Call on he or she and ask for their help.
The one on 641 N and the one on 79 N, I believe, are the only ones still in business.
They cleaned up lower Broadway on Nashville and look what happened! What a difference. We need those restaurants to come in and the porn peddlers to leave on the same Hell Wagon that they rode in on.
Hey, Satin isn't going to stop. It is up to our political system to do the right thing.

New landowner in Paris checking out the town. I have been very happy with what I have seen thus far. It seems to be a fine town. Of course, it is what I was looking for. Originally from a small South GA town, but have traveled the world. Looking to get back to the slower pace. I have hardly noticed the adult business market in paris or around paris tn. I think I saw one adult store...Of course, I wasn't looking for them either. DogLady & Jerome's comments seem productive & articulate (if you can say that about a post). Appreciate the insight into your community. Looking forward to joining it in the next 3-5 years, when I do retire!

Not saying these places should not go, but what if they left? What will it change? People will just go to Murray or Camden or wherever else to get it. Its the customers fault for falling to temptation, and no matter how many places you close down, temptation will always be there. If they cant get thier kicks from porn, whats to say they wont head for the closest child to molest?

I heard we are getting a big dollar tree beside Wendy's. Has anyone Heard that?

I also seen where the carwash was that Casey's in going to be. On the sign it had a pic of sub sandwiches. Is it going to be a store or a restaurant?

I wish we could get more factory's. There isnt enough jobs here. To keep the money in henry county we need to create more jobs. You can build as many restaurants as you want. With out jobs who can afford to go out to eat.
