I'm so glad to see this thread on Topix!

My husband and I are paranormal investigators with a local group, Bluegrass Coalition for Spirit Investigators (Bluegrass C.S.I.). Our group is based in Paris, KY and has investigated many local homes, businesses as well as Waverly Hills, Blue Licks Battlefield and other homes & businesses in Lexington, KY. Our services are free of charge and we're always looking for new investigations for our group of experienced investigators. Check us out at www.BluegrassCSI.org .

Now that I've plugged our group I want to issue a word of caution about the old TB Hospital. It is in sad disrepair and you will be prosecuted for trespassing if caught in the building. You MUST have permission from the County Judge Executive (Mr. Foley) to investigate or be on the premises and right now he is not allowing ANYONE to do this.

I met up with Patti Star recently and discussed the TB Hospital. It was mentioned that the building has a lot of water damage and there is a lot of mold in the building. The last time she investigated she swore she'd not return without wearing a mask. There have also been reports (not sure if these are 100% true or not) that unidentified bacterial growth has been noted in the building and has been sent for testing with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).

While paranormal investigations are a lot of fun there are some dangers to what we do and the TB hospital is an example of one of those dangers. Please, if any of you are thinking of snooping around or going inside I highly recommend you abandon the idea unless you have direct permission from Judge Foley and you take all precautions you can. Any spirits there won't harm you but the building may!

Actually, it's quite hard to get into the actual hospital unless you have some weaponry on you. However, there are two buildings to the side that are quite boring, and an extra building between the jail and the hospital that is just filled with crap.
My friends and I have gone to the hospital many times, and it's really not that interesting unless you can find a way to get in, which, by the way, is really hard to do. Although, I must say, it's kind of creepy if you look inside.
But I agree, it is all in your head. If you're going to go to an abandoned building with a history at night and expect to see/hear creepy things, you're going to take normal noises and make them into something they're not.
Then again, who knows? Maybe the building is haunted.

Did you have to get clearance from anyone to have that out there even though it is outside and not inside the hospital? If so, who? I would love to get an ok to go in the hospital and check it out.

You have to have city permission to go in -- specifically permission from Judge Foley. however, the building is in such bad shape and is a bit of a danger, that he lets very few people actually go in. NO ONE gets to go in just to "check it out" - you have to have a better reason than that to get inside.

This is an old thread I know, but I thought I'd tell you about my experiences in this place. Ive been in all the buildings except the hospital, and the two creepiest are the boiler room and the nurses house closest to the hospital. We explored it head to toe but anyone whos been in the basement should recall an old wooden chair in the basement. We left the room with the chair to look in a closet turned around and the chair was facing us. The room got ice cold and we had the feeling someone was directly in front of us. Needless to say, we hightailed it out of there. By the hospital we were walking directly under it knocking on the windows. At one window a very loud knock came from the other side. After that we checked out the boiler room. It's basically a large room with giant boilers in the middle and lots of pipes and catwalks. We pryed open the boilers to look inside. A very cold wind blew out and my friend ran out. She was pale as a ghost. She was the only one standing directly in front when we opened it and saw a grey arm reach out. So yeah I definitely believe the place is haunted. My uncles working at removing abestos from the hospital and is gonna let us use them for a night. Sadly he said there are plans to tear the hospital down and put a swimming pool in it's place.

We are members of Bluegrasscsi and we investigated this hospital about 1 year ago. Interesting investigation, we did have several different paranormal experiences; personal as well as documented. Our website is under reconstruction so it may be some time before our evidence is posted.

I grew up in a haunted house and I know that spirits arent anything that I wanna mess w/, but at the same time that lil girl is in almost every session. I do think its the same lil girl. I think someone should take her a lil doll or a jump rope or something. Or........well it would be real nice if someone would help her pass over. Its sad.
A little girl's spirit is not going to b wondering around in a hospital if she died at an innocent age then she's gone on to b with Jesus. She's already passed over into the loving arms of Jesus. He was waiting for her with open arms.
