What are your thoughts on school consolidation?

Would it benefit Crestwood?

Would it benefit Paris 95?

I have said before I will say it again there will be no state money you can't afford busing the kids so the answer is NO when will they believe what good is it to build a news school when you kids could care less it's all about the high society in Paris wanting something to brag about and were are they now HIDING because they won't fess up they wanted it but don't want to pay for it every time you turn around it's money this money that O we need to add this please enough all ready grow up either build it or fix what you have now plain and simple but I forgot we are talking about Paris what I have heard that does make more since is it will be across from the guard there is a railroad track you have plenty of farm ground so the next best thing is a new jail or concentration camp when all hell breaks lose and they bring all the lowlifes down from up north and you know what city I am talking about just stop and think about it makes perfect reason doesn't it the county will have money for keeping all the scumbags so then you will have the gang problem here and I mean a real gang problem so good old Paris will be worse off than it is now and as to the gang problem well I would bet it maybe part of a plant on the south end of town NAL and we know who owns them so the question is do you want Paris now or after all the crap starts and let's not forget about your airport I have seen from post that it need's to be a strip club well you can have both you know the Japaneses like to party and most of the school board and such will be there anyway so is it really worth selling you taxpayers souls just so they can have something to brag about when the snot nose high uppers can brag about it? BTW there's going to be more you just set back and watch the show you can see it happening right now and this all so a hand full of students if that will have an education so please don't fill us taxpayers a bunch of b.s. like you all ready have and all we see is a empty lot good place to bury the bodies that will be coming if there aren't any all ready out there so is your soul worth it to sell like like most of Paris all ready has and then stand around and bitch about it, it's no wonder anybody with any brains doesn't want an elected office here your all ready dirty before the campaign is over if you win or not! So in conclusion right here in Coles County/Charleston Il we don't have it that bad but if you could get the airport strip club up and running just think of the money and the college girls will have some place to work and from another post Adonna can have a real job and the board members to they will be there and what we hear some can take care of the gay/lesbian crowd but as Jerry S. says there's nothing wrong with that well until the holy rollers start complaining but beware of wolf's in sheep clothing some of them will be there you just have to keep your eyes open and watch the show.
You have some good thoughts but your presentation stinks. Try using some punctuation.

Its not going to come down to whether or not we want school consolidation...it will be more that we will have to consolidate out of cost necessity, or be forced to take the kids to the nearest available school...which might not be in the same town. The wiggle-room for choice for us is getting narrower all the time.

Was that above post not correct? It seemed right on with what I have gathered from the numerous statewide articles i have read and talking to board members and teachers. Are the statewide funding problems I read about all false? I didnt realize that there were people that thought everything was fine with our school system. Enlighten us irishman.

We are a town of 8500? people. We have three school boards. Administrators that serve those three boards. If the math does not scream "greater than" what is needed, then I really misunderstand the issues in Paris. Indeed, if I am wrong, enlighten me.....

GOVERNOR PAT QUINN’S CONSOLIDATION PROPOSAL
o Reduce the number of school districts in Illinois from 868 to 300
o Draw new school boundaries the same way as the General Assembly draws legislative district
boundaries – based on the census
o School districts to each have a population of 30,000-35,000 people
o The Governor states that this consolidation proposal will save taxpayers $100 million based on the elimination of school administrators’ salaries
o A commission appointed by the Governor will establish the new school districts without input from local school district citizens or from the legislature

there is a meeting sometime soon to discuss putting the elementary and middle schools together.
Probably carefully hand selected reps to run the meeting. I think we avoid it.

How can a school district afford to keep a HS open with less than 100 kids? How can they offer a full range of courses especially for college prep?

Teachers asked for a forum for Paris taxpayers and parents to ask questions. They refused. Teachers asked ,again and again and again. NOW there is a public meeting. They said no one cared enough to come and ask questions. You can prove them wrong. Go and ask questions.
