i figure all these guys are very happy to be back at work. as a wife to one of them and a relative to two more of them and friends to many of the other guys and their families we were all quite releived to have the mill open agin. even under a new company. trust me being unemployed for over 8 months was very hard on some of the guys and their familes and very few of them found other jobs and several that had came back. we are all very happy about the re-opening.

Glad to hear something good happening around here. Kudos to the company re-opening the mill. I am sure that some of the men and families around here are glad as well.

A person you can not find a job in eight months is a bum. These companies get a big laugh out of those guys. The plant manager did not miss a pay check or the log scaler. Two ass kissers. I would not go back there if only job on the face of the earth. Well, Webster county always was full of a bunch of dumb asses and losers. Go crawling back to your $8/hr job. No wonder way these corporationS made a killing. The guys that went back are those people who always bitched about their job. The good old American worker just like a bunch of sheep.

did you ever work there? and my husband ,family and friends arent bums. your an ass. a few of them got jobs and they came back to coastal too-not all but a few. i dont think you've ever lived in webster co or you would know how hard it is to get a job here. and many of them didnt get jobs yet as they were planning on going back to school-some already were taking classes ect. theres a thing called unemployment that allows you to go to school and search for work while still having some income. maybe someday when you've worked a job long enough you will earn some unemployment funds-if you can keep a job that long. so tell us big "better than us -mr. outta town man" where do you work and what do you make an hour? and how you got to be so much wiser than all of us small town "sheep"?

That is very low esteem if you can not find a job in eight months. Working at McDonalds pays more and less hazards. But once sawmill trash always sawmill trash. I guess it would be hard to find a job without a GED. Yes, I have been to Webster county and know why. You people there need to stand on your own to feet and stop living off the government. I have worked a long time and never had to draw unemployment. Because I worked with my head not my back. Ask yor plant manager and log scaler they never missed a pay check. That's two guys I would want to work for. Company has them in their back pocket. They are what you call in laymans terms as RATS. But go crawling back and suck on the chrome hitch. People such as yourself give WV a bad name. These corporations get a big laugh watching the sheep come back. That is the main reason this country is in the shape it is now. The American people have no back bone and will never stick together.

You are a prime example of Webster county inter breeding. Go get your check it is in the mail. It is the first of the month. So you can go buy your cheese.

sawmill workers have back bone and a strong one at that, and big muscles. they won't high hat you on the street. sawmill workers know what real sweat is. they help to bring to your home the beautiful furniture you sit on and eat on, walk on your beautiful floors of wood. your furniture has hand prints and sweat of a sawmill worker all over it. probably blood stains too. don't put down sawmill workers, they are there for one reason or another. walk in their shoes, i dare you. every job in the world has it's ups and downs, whether you're a politician, a preacher, a babysitter, a cook. work is something we do because it is what builds character. unfortunately some people don't know what that is- by choice.

yep we know who this is the lazy troublemaker who couldnt cut it-his first real job and he couldnt handle it. perhaps he will have better luck now in his new "position".
he is young still and will learn with time everybody must make their own way and no matter what your last name is ya still gotta work. it is sad he hasnt learned respect yet for men who work hard to provide for themselves and their families. there is nothing wrong with working with your back and putting in an honest days work and being respected for it. my young friend time will teach you many, many things and they are not all easy lessons.perhaps you will reflect upon the way you have made fun of these men on here say 10 years down the road-then you might see a little more clearly what i am saying.

I dunno who this guy is runnin his mouth on here but I'll at least show my name and yes I'm an Ex Coastal Lumber Employee and a present Eastern Hardwood employee and I love being back at the mill in Hacker Valley, I dont believe in ass kissin' and I dont believe in taking the easy road to make money, I may not be the hardest worker all the time but I can say that I've been workin' on sawmills basically since I graduated high school and that was from 2004 to present...
If your a real man then you wouldn't be afraid of work, I dunno what everyone else thinks about the new company that owns the old Coastal mill but I believe it seems to have a lil better goals and ideas of how to avoid future shutdowns... I am glad to be back cause of my fellow co-workers and the environment that we work in, its not a huge sawmill like others in the state, but it produces quality lumber for many purposes and a rather large quantity for the amount of saws there are, and the people that work there putting pride in their work... Prolly why you are not working there anymore because of WORK issues and PRIDE!!!
No it dont pay alot, I left Jim C Hamer Co, a job about 15 minutes away for the job at Eastern Hardwoods (Coastal) and thats about a 45 minute drive, because of the people I respect and know will give their 110% to make quality lumber and provide a safer, more friendly atmosphere... If I wasn't engaged and fixin' on gittin' married I'd move over there and live at that damn mill!!!
So when you sit your ass down this evening to read this and fall through the floor, its cause of people like you not having pride in building something sturdy...
Building a sturdy friendship with your coworkers, or a reputation of being a Hell of a worker!!!

Brandon, you are still wet behind the ears. You have not been in the work force long enough to give a option. If you think the company gives one shit about you think again. Your buddies will sell you down the road for a dollar as soon as you turn your back. Same dumb asses running the company so do not know how they learned anything. Looks like you are pretty well brain washed. Plus, you are a young babe in the woods and have much to learn. Just do not turn
your back or they will bleed a guy like you to death.
