NM mother charged in baby's death

A 21-year-old southern New Mexico woman has been charged with child abuse resulting in death after Dona Ana County sheriff's deputies found her 1-month-old son unresponsive.

These child killers need to be more creative with their excuses. In almost every story of shaken/killed baby, the kid is reported to have fallen off the couch.

This makes me sick! My daughter will be one month old on July 11th and there is no way that she would be able to throw herself back onto ANYTHING! This woman is lying! How anyone could hurt such a tiny, precious life, is unimaginable. She deserves the very worst life can thrust upon her.

Once again I will say, there are so many places the killer could have taken her baby, called for help, asked for help, anything except killing her baby. It just tears my heart up reading stories like this. I wish the "why" could be answered, no excuses, no cop outs, but WHY? We all know, there is no answer to WHY, no believeable answer and none that would let a killer off the hook.

I'm sure my taxes via Medicaid paid for her prenatal care and baby's birth and initial doctor visits. What a waste... Let's hope a sane judge locks her up and throws away the key, and I agree, NOT in protective custody so the other inmates can carry out the REAL kind of justice she deserves... And if she ever does get out, let's hope it's after menopause or that she has court-ordered sterilization to prevent this from happening again. She doesn't deserve the title of mother, only murderer!

Amen! There is no reasonable, logical explanation for a mother to kill her child, EVER, no matter the mom's age. No excuses, especially her ridiculous, stupid explanation that a 1-mo. old baby could throw himself back and hit his head. Yeah, right. She deserves whatever horrible fate awaits her in prison...eye for an eye, baby!

Mommies murder their children everyday through abortion. So you are right, there is no logical explanation.

nothing but a bunch of crying hatemongers. The mother was mentally challenged. We, her dad, stepmom, and teachers tried very hard to get her to stay in school, I saw the parents anguish as she got boy crazy, ands their suffering as she left the country for some so called young man who took advantage of her where is he? You all hate and talk but do you really have any compassion , I seriously doubt it. Check your soul before you cast stones people.
