I was just wondering what type of church would welcome gay people. I've been told only the methodist and epsicopal. Anyone know?

Any church should welcome gay people. Now which church accepts the gay ideology is a different story.

There is a "Unitarian Universalist" church in Jonesboro that openly accepts and welcomes gay people -- I think that it's pretty small and made up of college professors, ASU students, etc.

If they don't "allow" you to come to church just because of your sexual preference, that's profiling, which last I checked was against the law. It's a free country (well, somewhat), and church is a public place is it not?

That would be like a church putting up a sign "whites only", fairly sure that's no longer legal...

Go to the Unitarian church in Jonesboro. Don't f**k with these hypocrites in the Paragould churches.

Actually I'm pretty sure that it is legal for churches to discriminate on whatever basis they want to (except with regard to some employment matters).

And in Arkansas it is legal to discriminate against homosexuals (even in employment).

I'm thinking this is not true.

I'm pretty sure that it is true that churches can discriminate on whatever basis they want (except with some employment issues)-- otherwise it would violate the "free exercise" clause of the First Amendment.

And it is definitely legal to discriminate against homosexuals in Arkansas (even at work) regardless.

I'm going to have to ask you to prove that last statement. The EEOC may hold a different view.

"The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) does not enforce the protections that prohibit discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation..."

The ONLY employees that have any government protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation in Arkansas are Federal Employees -- but the EEOC isn't responsible for enforcing those protections (other Federal agencies are).

What a bunch of crap. They'll "allow" you ... how do they know in many cases. But, they won't accept you and think you are going to hell if there is such a thing. Hook up with the Unitarian church in Jonesboro. That's a caring group of people who accept anyone.

Show me where it states discriminating against homosexuals is legal in Arkansas. Everything I've ever heard stated it is against the law to discriminate a person for any reason in employment.

Please see my post #11 above which deals with Federal law (that has a link to the EEOC itself) and http://www.hrc.org/issues/workplace/965.htm which specifically deals with Arkansas law.

Employers in Arkansas can discriminate against or harass employees for any reason other than race, color, religion, sex (as in being male or female), national origin, age or disabilities.

...the Federal law is obviously the same everywhere -- but the vast majority of States are the same as Arkansas in this regard as well...
