This is so sad that something like this has happened. I think we should all pray for the families of the lady who died and also for the boy who killed her. It is very sad when people no matter what there age does not pay attention when they are driving. Let this be a riminder to all, to always be aware of your surroundings at all times and to never think that you are a good driver.

He should have to live with it. He was going 60 in a 40. No excuse for that. The lady who lost her life has a family & they have to live with the fact that some boneheaded teenager killed her.

Most of the time they don't go to jail even. A 19 year old hit my dad head on feel asleep and crossed to lanes of traffic. He didn't even get a slap on the wrist but I hope everyday he wakes he knows he took him away! And he has to live with that but honestly.. thts all

Please no bashing if I'm wrong, but I heard that the one that passed away was only 16. No matter how old she was my prayers go out to the family.

Well, my apologies. I misread the info. The boy that caused the wreck was 16. Sorry!! My prayers go out to the family.

Let me start by saying my heart goes out to all the families here. But sitting here bashing this poor kid is no way to be. I AM NOT saying he should go without punishment, but we all have to stop and remember we were teenagers once also. New drivers, no experience. It does not excuse his actions in anyway though. If in fact he was doing 60 in a 40 then yes he is at fault, but there is no reason to bash this kid. No I do not know him, or the other party involved. God be with all of them and lay a healing hand upon each family.

The facts are the lady who died was on her way to work. The policeman who arrived at the scene first, came by the daughters house last night to tell her he broke the drivers side glass and held her mothers hand while telling her it will be ok. He said the first responders arrived very quickly and got her out. The hospital on the other hand did not have an interperter to translate for the 2 hours while she lay dying. When Theresa got nervious she would speak spanish not english and i'm sure she was in that state of mind during that time. All they could make out was she wanted to go home and she would say owie which meant "HURT". SHAME ON THE HOSPITAL!!!!! And the Daily Disgrace we call a newspaper needs to hire people who know how to report the facts and not just a body to fill a position!!!

I have come to learn that nothing you read in the Daily Press or see on KAIT can be taken seriously. The deadline is the only thing that they worry about. Maybe it is just me but, I think if I ran a newpaper, I would hire people who take their time and report the news correctly. This woman's family is going through quite enough the way it is and for them to have to read something like is like a slap in the face. I understand that noone is perfect but, to repeatedly make huge errors like this is ridiculous. It all amounts to what is important to the person reporting the story and evidentaly this was not of importance to this person. I can guaran-damn-tee you if this had been a relative of someone's at the paper this mistake would not have been made. Their job is to report the facts...regardless of the importance to them at the time. Treat each story like it is the last one you will ever write and then maybe this won't happen ( thought this deserved repeating)
