i went to the site to look at an obituary,i cant believe they want people to pay 8 bucks a month to view that paper.needless to say i didnt get to see which funeral home will be conducting my friends burial.so after a few calls i finally found the info.but i think the daily mess is really screwing up with this. especially when that paper is only a couple pages.

I guess you can see they're making papers for midgets now, little bitty pages and the papers so thin you can read both sides at once.

And the story about Taylor Swifts pet gerbil seeing it's first rainbow??? C'mon..there's bigger stories!!! what about the geese at Reynolds park!!!

100 buck a year is too much...

Yes it burned me too. Next time just go to the funeral home site and look there. Just try each one until you find it. They are doing it so we will subscribe to the real paper. Not happening here.

Look, I am not saying the quality of the paper is where it should be. It isn't. All the turnover there hurts the product. But, think about it, newspapers can't just give away their content. There are employees with benefits to pay, utility costs. Building costs, paper and ink and printing, circulation costs in delivery and postage. Property to move, roof to fix, and on and on. Subscribers and advertisers float the boat. We have all gotten so used to having news, we forget what it takes to produce it - money, like any other business. The more of us who do not support our local papers - no matter where we live - the more we lose as a connected community. And, no, I do not work there!!!

They're a rip off. I also went to their site to try to find the pic or even the article about the burglary that happened & they wanted $8 to view the whole story. Heck no!! It was on the news but didn't gt a good look @ the video. So, now they expect us to pay to see it. Guess they don't want the publics help too bad. I did get to see the story once I got to the news feed on topix, but no pic or video. Daily Press Sucks!!!

They suck, price keeps going up. Customer service is lousy. They make very difficult to cancel. I'll never subscribe again!

Why didn't you just go buy a paper? Of course they put up a pay wall, every other newspaper has one. Why would they give the newspaper away for free online and charge for it in stands? That doesn't even make sense.$8 for the whole month online compared to how much it is for home delivery is a good deal. Or are you just that cheap? You obviously haven't read the paper in a while, its more than two pages.

You can go to each of the funeral home websites and read it in full and it is free. I keep them in my bookmarks and it very hand.
