My brother and I went to Dixie Cafe a few weeks ago and we never got a waitress to come to our table. It was around 2 - 3 pm and they only had 3 to 4 other tables with customers to wait on, it was slow, so why NO Service? The man at the door took us to our table and gave us a menu. We sat there for around 10 mins and I said if you want to leave its fine with me , if its going to take this long to get bread and a drink no telling how long the food will be. Two different waitress seen us sitting there, one got a refill for the lady two tables in front of us, and the other brought out a mans food not to far from us. They could have at least said I'll be with you when I can. Thats the worst serivce I've ever seen anywhere!!! We satyed a few more mins and after 15 mins more or less, we went to Chills.Someone at Dixie is dropping the ball when customer get up and leave.
( Yes, I did tell someone , as we were leaving a girl in the ice cream shop area said "have a nice day" and I told her we never got waited on and asked her to tell the manager. I had wasted enough time there and didnt even want to wait for them to dig him or her up, they should have been watching the place better to start with and they would have known we sat there 15 mins with NO service)

I will concur with you on Dixie's service, or the lack there of. Granted I haven't been there for a while, but I have only had one positive experience out of the dozen or so times that I have gone. Everytime I have an issue I ask for the mgr only to be told that they are busy. If not for my wife making me go back I would never eat there again. Luckily, there are more and more establishments coming to town and I don't have to frequent this establishment anymore.

We were excited when the restaurant opened and tried it several timesbut the srevice and the managers attitude were lousy. We tried it again about a year ago and the service was worse. Part of the food was ice box cold.
I doubt we go back in another year!!!!!!!

We went to dixie Saturday. It was horrible. First our waitress sucked. That is the first time I have left without tipping anything at all. No one with us tipped a dime. It was awful. The waitress was pathetic. We had to have another waitress hunt her down several times. The food was completely gross. My husband and I were sick all weekend from what we ate. I haven't even felt like calling to complain. My advice. Don't go there. It is really bad.

It has been awhile ago since I went there. Me and my husband went there and we did not tip because of the service and the next time we went in the waitress came up to us and asked why we didn't tip last time.

ok I just called Dixie to tell them what was going on. The sweetest lady is the manager there now. I belive she said her name was cassie. (not sure). She has only been manager for 2 weeks and she knows they have an uphill battle. I swore I would never go back, but when someone is that appologetic, well I am going to have to give them another chance. When my stomach can take it. lol

You should always leave a tip, just remember not leaving a tip just makes them think you are a tight-wad. You tip according to the service you got, either 15% or more depending on the service OR maybe a dime or a couple of pennies, that lets them know yes, you did leave a tip and that you thought the service was poor!

I have been in a job that I lived on my tips...and I still believe that a tip is optional! If you do not earn it you don't get it. I have had a waitress ask me the same question once? I told her that that I believe that a tip is earned...I am a great tipper if you deserve it. Ever since then that waitress goes out of her way to help me.

when service is really bad, i leave a dollar bill as the tip so the waitress knows i thought service was bad. but then i usually let the hostess or manager know as well so she understands. However, there was an incident at Dixie once that was so bad I refused to even leave my usual $1. We were there for an hour and half (becasue of slow service), never got a single refill, had to have other servers hunt ours down many times, our food was cold when we got it, and the waitress never once apologized.

I have ate there twice since they have opened. The first time the service & food sucked, and I figured it was just new and needed to get the kinks worked out. Well I went back about two weeks ago and it is still horrible. We went around 2:00 and so there was hardly anybody there, and it took a good 10 minutes to get our drinks and bread, then we waited for our waitress to come back to take our order and we waited for ike 15 more minutes, and just got up, paid for our drinks and left. They really need to do some work on there staff.

We had a horrible experience there also. Our waitress was a short fat little blondish girl and her name was Jessica. I remember that because it's my daughters name. Anyway, she was rude and our order was horribly messed up not once but twice. She was a real dingbat and we will never go tthere again.

I really love to eat at Dixie. It's one of my favorite places to eat in town. I usually go with my mom or a friend and for just two of us i ALWAYS leave 5 dollars. I'm a waitress so I know what it feels like. It really bugs me when people blame servers for their food being messed up. It's not their fault it is the cook's fault. Maybe you should ask to talk to the cooks when you are wanting to complain about the food. I can completely understand if your waitress takes 15 minutes to take your drink order. That is ridiculous. Just do me one favor though next time you want to get rude with your server remember that we all make mistakes and have something going on in our lives too and it maybe a bad day. thanks.

You are wrong! The server should be blamed if the wrong order was delivered to the table. Either the server put the order in wrong or they did not check the plates they were delivering to the table. If there is no kitchen expeditor then it is your job as a server to make sure the order YOU turned in is right!

Off days, bull crap! Leave your problems at home and do your job! Your personal problems should NEVER interfere with your customers.

My daughter was a waitress for years and we usually leave 5 dollar tips where we go but it is the waitress job to make sure I am served, drink refilled, and treated appropriately.
My motto is never send food back!!!!! I also know what happens to food that is sent back. I am sure I would talk to the cook about the problem :(

I just won't go back to a bad restaurant. I also have family members who serve, and yeah, you go ahead and complain, and leave bad tips/or no tip at all...you'll get a little extra in your food!(wink)
And servers from other restaurants talk...so your rep. follows you.

besides that being gross, it is illegal...get caught doing that and you wont ever work in the food industry again...it is a health code violation and it also opens you, personally, and the restaurant up to high-dollar lawsuits...if you want to risk a $100,000 lawsuit because you were stiffed $2 you feel "entitled" to, you are an idiot.
