thanks for the information. I will look at some of these and let you know what I find.
So far I haven't found anything on the Cranfield case. It would be a great help if I had an approximate date.

Sorry it was not an appeal to that case, but another in which the Lipe case was referrenced. See excerpt below"

In a case analogous to the instant matter, Cecelia Roleson and her husband, Jerry Roleson,
were convicted of the murder of Carl Lipe. On direct appeal, Jerry’s conviction was dismissed due
to lack of corroborating evidence and Cecelia’s conviction was reversed for error. Roleson v. State,
272 Ark. 346, 614 S.W.2d 656 (1981). Cecelia was re-tried for murder and found guilty by a second
jury. She appealed the conviction based in part on the dismissal of Jerry’s conviction. Roleson v.
State, 277 Ark. 148, 640 S.W.2d 113 (1982).
In Cecelia’s second appeal, we held that Arkansas Statutes Annotated § 41-304(2)(Repl.
1977), currently codified as Arkansas Code Annotated § 5-2-405(2)(Repl. 2006), controlled and that
it was no defense for Cecelia that Jerry had been acquitted. This statute was a departure from
common law and intended to close the loophole that prevented an accomplice from being tried if the
principal had been acquitted.3 Roleson, supra. Now, there is no distinction between principals and
accomplices as to criminal liability.

I found in another site that she , Mrs. Roleson, had dropped off their children with someone the night of the murder and stated,'Tonight's the night'. Haven't located the case yet. Still searching.

Unsolved cold case - suspect in case is now deceased. Sam Poe was the CID at the time.
I believe this was during the 80's. James Danley was sheriff at the time.
It was actually in the early to mid '90s. I knew Pete. He was a super-nice guy.

Yeah, Ricky Watson. They were taken from the service station on the corner of Reynolds Road out in the woods somewhere and shot.

They were taken to 'Cornbread Corner'. It's on Campground Road. My uncle lives across the fence. I remember that incident also. I was a little girl then. They were taken, and I believe shot, not sure. Also, was told that one or both of them were hung by their own belt.

What happened to the Ricker man and the Earls man around Peach Orchard that just disappeared? Haven't been heard from since. Law even dug in river bottoms a few years ago following a lead.

I believe a man named H Jones was questoined at
length about the death, but he was never charged.

Hey, Larry, how goes it? Actually he was on a Ford tractor with a side mower on it. I was there
a couple hours after it, it was near Beech Grove, and the tractor and bush hog was still there. Clifton Edwards, a farmer found "pete" lying in the grass about 30 yards from the tractor. At first, they thought a chunk or a piece of limb had hit him in the side of the head.
One bullet went straight through his mouth, breaking out a front tooth, and passing out his right jaw. The second bullet went through the side of his neck as he turned to jump off the tractor, and it knicked his jugular vein, which is the bullet that killed him. It was a 32 cal.
He bled to death in a matter of minutes - there
was an unbelievable blood trail from the tractor
to where he lay in the grass. There was blood on
the dash of the tractor to where he lay.
The bullet passing through the front of his mouth indicated he was turned to the left, talking to his assailant when he was shot. The angle of entry indicated the asssailant was in a
"jacked up" suv, which the land owner owned. He
had gotten a phone call at his place of work and
rushed off, and filled up with gas at what was then Gander's store on 412 West, and went back to work. He was gone about an hour and a half from
his workplace.
Sam Poe was CID at the time.

One of the perps that did the crime was 'Bear'
Rogers' son, or adopted son. He had a knickname,
I believe "Beau" or "Buck", not sure about nickname. I do remember his last name was Rogers. A tall dark complected guy with black hair.
