There is nothing for the teenagers to do in Paragould. They are not allowed to gather in parking lots. Gas is too expensive for them to just keep driving around. The City needs to consider an alternative for them. They have nothing to do during the summer and on weekends.

What would you like for them to do?

I can think of quite a few things: Swimming at Community Center, go to a movie, go bowling, join a sports team (softball, baseball, basketball), learn to do something - a new sport, a new hobby. Read. Volunteer. Get a part-time job. Get involved with a youth group at one of the churches in town. Look up friends from school. Go fishing. Help around the house, cleaning, mowing grass, etc. Sleep late. Learn to plan and prepare a nice meal.Why must the City provide for them? If they don't want to do any of the things listed above, why would something the City might come up with interest them any more?

Sounds like you have a lot to do. All of these things will not start on their own.

I do as much as I want to do. I am an adult. No, none of these things will "start" on their own, but all are there, waiting for someone to do them. The original poster said there was nothing to do; I merely offered some things that are there to do. As far as "starting", if someone is looking for something to do, they have to "start" by getting up and going to do the things they think they might like. Otherwise, there is no one to blame but themselves. Oh, that's right...this must be clueless, too. I so wish I could get a clue about something (sigh).

Teenagers don't want to do anything.

Therefore;

There is no problem.

Your kids are not human anymore. They are Cell Phone Borg. You stood by and watched (and in some cases even contributed) as they were assimilated.

I agree with you 100%. The first thing you see them do when they do get up is start texting. Then its text,text,text all day long. The last thing you see them do is laying in bed texting.Text,text,text all hours of the night.

I was born and raised in this crappy town. I know what there is and isn't to do. In case you don't realize this, A LOT of what you said takes money. I have a job but I'm not paying over $7 just to watch a movie. The bowling alley in paragould completely sucks, the lanes are constantly breaking down and they close at like 10 on the week days. No one wants to bowl there bc all the wanna be punks will talk shit to you and try to start fights. Sports cost A LOT of money in order to have everything you need. The pool at the cc is always packed with little kids and their parents and you can't really have any fun because all the rules they have there. Reynolds park sucks when it comes to fishing, Walcott is an ok park but they have nothing to do there except a playground for little kids and a swimming pool where you swim in nasty water. The owner of the bowling alley would be smart to put more lanes and FIX all the ones he has now along with redoing the outside of that place. Someone could put a skate rink in Paragould and they would get a ton of business from teens. Put a club in town where underage people can hangout.

I was born in your so called crappy town also. But I guess people have changed with the times.We never needed much money to do things during the summer then.And now everyone has to have a car or truck just to go to the mail box.

No I don't :). But this post is about teens not having anything to do and now you know why. Go ask other teens, they will tell you the same things I mentioned. This is coming from a 19 year old that already went through that stage. Everyone goes to Jonesboro to go bowling or go eat or chill with friends. If you're 18 you go to the cowboy on Thursday nights. Jonesboro gets the money because they have things to do including shopping and skating. This town has nothing for teens

Actually I barely text and I'm Hardly ever on the computer unless I'm doing homework. I work and make my own money and I'm a responsible teenager. I don't go out and do anything because I don't have time now that I'm getting older and have bills to pay. Don't start shit talking me when you have no idea who I am or anything about me. That is what's wrong with this stupid town everyone wants to start stuff but no one wants anyone to know who said it.

I love 4 wheeler riding and playing in mud. But you don't get to ride a 4 wheeler in town. All the laws and rules keep people from doing that
