Holy crap, talk about bad customer service!!! It's been a while since I've had customer service bad enough to vent over, but I think this just jumped to the top of the list all together...

I had a flat today on my car, took it off and took it down to Mid-South muffler to have it looked at. When I first went in I stated "I had a flat when I went outside today, could you tell me what's wrong with it?" I didn't ask them to fix it, just tell me what the issue was.

He mentioned a patch would be $18, mom went over to make sure he knew we wanted to know what was wrong with it first. Few minutes later he rolled the tire over, said" there looked to be a hole from a screw " and it had a plug in it!

Mom brought it up to his attention that we did not ask for the plug, which was sticking out a good half inch or more (will probably come right out going down the road). Then a older guy that was talking to someone the whole time not knowing what was being said or going on came out and said "We'll fix it real quick for ya, take it and don't come back".

At this point I was simply trying to state that we only wanted to know what caused the flat because I did not have the money to fix it until Friday, which I would have probably went with the patch. He just kept saying "get out and don't come back"...

At that point I was getting pissed and while rolling the tire out I said that we had been coming there for years to fix our tires and that was a bad way to treat customers and was poor customer service, in which the older guy replies "Your close to getting customer service in your ass".

At that point I stopped, turned around and he said "want to hit me, go for it" and I replied "No, but you can hit me if you want, the police station is only 2 blocks away." He stopped talking and turned around at that point. But that's bullshit...

Tomorrow I'll have to take the tire down to another place because I've never seen a patch job like this either, it's usually barely above the tire so it doesn't come out. I just hope they say they can fix it because while the hole they was talking about was the size of a small screw, the hole that's in it now is the size of a dime!

They just lost business of all 3 of our vehicles. Who else has had this problem with them?

If you weren't going to have the money to pay for it until Fri why didn't you just wait until then to go down there. I bet it was all a misunderstanding.

I've gone to them for years, even before it changed hands. Never had a problem, I will always use them. I always get excellent service and their rates vs. work done have always been fair. Mid-South Tire and Muffler will always have my business!:)

Let me get this straight. You didn't have any money, and went there(a repair shop) and wanted them to stop working for there paying costumers to tell you what you already knew. Your tire was flat! You let them take your tire, add air then they told you how much it would cost!! Them bastards!! Then to top it off they fixed it in front of you and that's when you told them you didn't want it fixed, you don't have any money and you just wanted confirmation that it was flat. YOUR A DOUCHE BAG and qualify for assistance to be escorted from any business that you won't pay. I hope your tire stays flat and you don't come to my shop bring me a flat and waste my time. Do the world a favor and eat a bullet.

Went there one time to get an estimate on a set of tires. The lady on the sales/ display floor could hardly focus on helping me because of her distracting dogs that were roaming around in the store.

Jack, I agree with you for the most part. However, there is no reason for not being polite. No matter how stupid someone else is, treating people with respect should never be taken for granted. Especially when word of mouth factors into your business.

Probably was, and I was simply curious because it was just fine the night before. But the whole issue was they didn't have to get rude simply because we brought it to his attention for the 3rd time. I probably would have came back Friday to get it patched had that not happen (I didn't know it was $18 now). But that's fine, they aren't the only ones in town that can fix a tire.

As for a couple other people above this one, not sure who owns it anymore, but I didn't recognize these people so I guess they must be the "new hands"? I never had a problem in the past with the other people. I do know if the "new hands" keep treating customers like this they won't be in business long in this economy.

Your half right, I took it to the shop to see "why" it was flat. I looked, didn't see any hole, asked to "see it first". Second off, none of them appeared to be working as they was all standing by the desk when we went in, so no I don't think they "stopped working" and they did more than put air in a tire, but I didn't ask them to.

And no they didn't fix it in front of me smart ass, he took it to the back, when I looked it was squirting water on it to "find a hole". Had I realized he was fixing it I would have stopped him then. I didn't know he plugged it until after he rolled in back across to us. And if you tell me what "shop" is yours I'll gladly stay out of it too.

How True - Exactly, if they had simply been calm and asked what the issue was, why we didn't want it fixed they could have asked for our phone number and told us to come back on Friday to pay or something. But instead they blew up and lost three customers.

To the guy who apparently didn't bother reading the first part of my post "I rolled it into the door"..yeah I drove my car there with a flat, then drove it through their front door and asked them if they could tell me why it's flat, they took it off and then waited to kick me out until after they plugged the tire.

Sorry, I keep forgetting about Ron Whites famous line "can't fix stupid". Ok here's what happen, I took my tire off, put my $400 tire in the back of my moms van, we took it down, I took the tire in and said "I got up this morning and this was flat, can you tell me why?" Where in that line did I say "can you fix it?" Then as he was rolling the tire away he mentioned a patch was $18, I didn't have $18, we used to be charged $6. So my mom went over there and told him we "just wanted to know why it was flat".... again nothing was said about fixing it.

Had he came back, no plug and said it would be $5 for looking at it, I'd had no problem paying. It's the way they went about it that we didn't like.

I just want to know why you wanted to know why it was flat. When I have a flat I take it and get it fixed. If I don't have the money I wait till i get the money and then take it. Doesn't matter why it's flat. Pretty simple there tater salad.
