My wife got snubbed today and not sure why but here is her review of the Walmart Vision Center she posted on Yahoo. I WAS going to schedule my eye appt there but I'll look elsewhere now.

I had the absolute WORST experience with Dr. Gill at the Paragould Wal Mart Vision Center today. She was rude, hateful and VERY unprofessional. I will NEVER use their services again. She would not explain the charges to the insurance company, was very hateful when confronted with a billing question, and then when I paid YET AGAIN for my co-pay, she smugly says "We'll call you when they come in".... I know they were in stock b/c the girl at the desk started to go get them before Dr. Gill got involved. Too bad the older gentleman that works on the weekends isn't there all the time because she is going to run everyone off with attitude like that. I have heard Dr. Howell is a fantastic eye doctor, I would recommend going there instead.

i dont know if your insurance covers the eye dr. over by subway and the movie theater. her name is dr. veal (spelled wrong). she is a very good dr. i have went to her and so has my 3 year old. i started taking my daughter there when she was 2. she also informed me that i could be at risk for cancer due to something in one of my eyes which no other dr had told me and she also told me that the dr i went to her before was wrong about my eyes because he told me that i had great eye sight when in reality i do need to wear glasses or contacts. but i would highly suggest trying her next time

I have been using dr gill since she first came here and i have not had one problem with her. maybe she cant explain the changes. that is something you will have to call ur insurance company for. also they dont always keep stuff in stock. they have been having a lady fill in at the desk. maybe she did not know they were out. they always call when it comes in. i would recommed her.

I was treated VERY!!!! bad. They all were so rude. I will not go back. Matter of fact I went back to Dr. Harris. Everytime I tried to get something they ALL were on break or gone to lunch. They wouldn.t take a debit card over the phone and it took TWO weeks to get contacts, and they forget to call you. They SUCK!!!!!!!!

There are some very nice people that work in that vision center. Understand that the employees are just that, employees of Wal-Mart, not the doctor. Don't judge the whole vision center service on everyone if it was specifically the doctor!!! Insurance is a scam anyway, we just can't live without it.

I agree...there are some nice people that work there but when the primary owner of a company is rude and hateful it's bad for business and puts a bad taste in my mouth. It's about the principal to me. I'm not going to reward her for being unprofessional. It was obvious by the way the employee was acting that day that Dr. Gill keeps her employees on edge when she's around. I think they are fearful of making mistakes. It's as if she expects a no defects environment. And her personal customer care is horrible. She needs to stay in her office and trust her employees to do their jobs.

I've done business with Dr. Gill for years, even prior to her practice at Walmart and have never been dissatisfied. She is very kind, patient and professional, going out of her way for her patients. Consumers fail to realize that understanding your insurance coverage is partially our responsibility and not soley the physician's. In addition, sometimes it is not the question itself but the manner in which it is asked that triggers a response. Healthcare providers are providing a service and should do so with respect for those it is being rendered, in return those receiving the service should return respect to the provider and realize insurance is not owned and managed by the physcian but rather the company you chose to represent you.

The bad taste in your mouth is probably halitosis. I don't see how an eye doc could possibly remedy this. The rude behavior is thus justifiable

I completely agree doctor Jami is wonderful so is everyone that works there.They can explain to you what you are paying for and what insurance will pay for, she spends more time with her patients and will help you everyway she can,excellent doctor my children love her!

I would think if she's filing a claim with the insurance company then she should be able to explain the charges for the services she provided...otherwise, she shouldn't be submitting the claim for the charges.

The vision center at the Paragould Walmart? I'm not complaining about any of the other vision centers and I'm not really complaining about the vision center itself but rather the eye doctor. Perhaps she was just having a bad day...

The Dr.'s part of the office is a privately owned business. She rents the office space. Wal-Mart has nothing to do with it, you dumbass.

The employees of Dr. Gill are not Wal-Mart employees. Do you see them wearing navy blue and khakis? No. I've been going to her ever since I had my first eye exam, and never once did I have a bad experience. All of her employees are very nice, and so was she. Yes, her voice is slightly annoying, but that shouldn't stop someone from being a patient of hers.

Yea that 1 eye doctor was being rude to me so I stop going there. The one inside Walmart.

Most doctors don't have a clue about insurance, it is not their job. Also, the eye dr at WalMart and the eye glass department are not connected.
