Why do people insist on wearing their worst clothes riding a bike. I never see a person wearing a polo shirt and nice shoes. $18,000 bike and their wearing a cutoff sleeveless jacket and a bandana. just curious, it's almost like they dress down. I have a bike and I don't look like I climbed out of a dumpster

It still amazes me that so-called adults behave in this manner. Now before everyone goes into a biker-frenzy, listen up. If you have to play dress-up while(and listen closely..) riding a mode of transportation, then you.....
1) Have serious insecurity issues.
2) Fail to possess the ability to understand that
transportation is just that, nothing more.
3) Convinced yourself that you are somehow
"cool".
4) Give yourself incredibly LAME
nicknames.....Dog Turd..Old F*cker..Big Dog
turd..Old Ho..whatever!
5) Band together in completely laughable
groups....Dogs of Misfortune..Bad *ss
Wannabees...Daughters of Retards..whatever.
Here's a wake-up call from the real world.
We LAUGH our *sses off at you every time you
throw down some ridiculous "sign" when you
pass each other on the highway.
We laugh our *sses off at you when you meander
into the local quickmart with your faux leather
jacket and "do-rag".
And we really laugh our *sses off when some
biker-retard tries to convince everyone that "you
just don't understand" about ridin' a bike!"
I've rode and my conclusion is...BIG F*CKIN
DEAL!
Point A to Point B. Simple as that!
You bikers have delusions of grandeur that you
are somehow "cool". It's transportation man! Get
real!
Hey how about this. You listen up for a sec, I read your reply you read mine. I'm a woman don't ride don't care to. However, I'm not so lame to get up and put ppl dwn that do and enjoy it and make a lifestyle of it. It's no different than any other obsessive lifestyle I see, sports and NASCAR fans as well wear their UA, Nike, razorbacks, team logo whatever it maybe, high -5ing drinking, partying, painting your body & running naked Etc and & talk and live sports and NASCAR. To another person this is stupid and boring so what!!! Doesn't make us not cool or freaks. Everyone has their nitch their own thing that they find fullfilling and where they find their joy and fun or comfort in. Maybe riding is more for them than for you. Who the hell died and made you judge of everything. You have some over rated testicles!!! Get over yourself.
It's not about your means of transportation or the faux or real leather on your back either your pretty superficial I'd say!
I don't know to many other types of the other recreational things I mentioned get together and raise ultimately $thousands and $thousands of dollars for great causes, help needy at Christmas feed hungry and do no harm but take allot of critism cause what they ride a bike and wear dew rags. I realize they have some bad predecessors but our local bike clubs do good things and are just a bunch of good friends I think trying to rally together to do more and have a good time doing it.
It really is evident how they get to your man ego. If not you wouldn't want to publicly (with out be known) bash these guys. What do you have to lose if you truly believe in your laughable feelings so strongly!

To begin with, you don’t know me…you wouldn’t have a clue who I was if you met me anywhere. I doubt very seriously that I fit any image that you may have of me in your head. Furthermore, because you don’t know me, you have no idea why I CHOOSE to do or not do anything. I don’t give a fuck if you think I’m “cool” or not. I don’t like to wear a helmet because it impedes my
vision and hearing and causes my neck to hurt
like hell after an hour or so (especially when it
keeps catching the wind). I have made this
decision because I have worn a helmet plenty of
times, and I feel the benefit is nullified by the
negative.
This is a personal choice that I have made
because of my experiences. As you are not even
a rider, your OPINION means nothing to me.
You listen to some statistics, hear a few stories
and make up your mind based on what the
media tells you that one should do without even
understanding WHY there is a reason for not
having a helmet law (and it has nothing to do
with looking cool). A helmet sounds “safe”, but
it’s not based on fact…it’s based on ultra
conservative conjecture. Whether you want to
hear it or not, a helmet can also cause injury. I
know that a helmet does not keep me “safe”.
Being safe is about not getting into an accident
to begin with.
I don’t wear a helmet when I ride horses either…
but eventually some a hole like you is going to
insist that it is the “safe” thing to do and that we
should all fall in line to your fears. I’m sure that
somewhere, there are even statistics that support
wearing a helmet when you use a ladder to
paint your house. Hell, let’s just all wear a
helmet in case we fall down…or worse still, what
if we get hit by a car or some falling birdshit?
You can’t protect everyone from everything.
I like the way you think.
I am a lady. Fairly young. However, used to ride a bit w my x husband. He always insisted he hated a helmet. I wanted him to wear one cause I was the over protective fearing all women.(you know) but it's ignorance at best.
You have to ride to know. It made me have blind spots per say and correct on my hearing. I had the shield so in rain it was needing to be wiped off. A lot actually. I just rode easier without it. When My lil boy turned 3 placed him on a 50 four wheeler here I go again. Helmet, knee pads, gloves the works. It was crazy I went bk to that person again. At four he wrecked it pretty bad. It was the helmet itself that caused all the injury. I know in some cases they save lives. I understand that. But before anyone makes it a choice for everyone they need to know from experience. If that makes any sense??

<quoted text>So your retort is that "rednecks do it too"? I'll have to agree. Equally uneducated, equally ridiculous. I mean you just compared your laughable traits to those of knuckle-dragging, inbred, morons. The point that you so unexpectedly miss is that I'm not proposing that riding a bike or a 4 wheel drive is stupid behavior. It's the ridiculous attitude and belief that your activity of choice somehow makes you "cool". And don't give me any crap about that not being true. If you truly enjoy riding a bike, no problem! Get on your scooter and ride. It's this growing trend of "bikers-are-a-special breed" and "my club is better than your club" mentality that exists. I've even seen it on this forum. Someone mentions a group of bikers, then out come the knuckleheads with their "code of ethics" and "you're not allowed to do that" kindergarten recess crap. I personally think you watch way to much TV and have somehow been swindled into thinking riding a bike/4 wheel drive is a "lifestyle". LMAO! Stop and think about it. If the type of transportation you prefer to participate in defines who you are as a person, then you need to stop and take a long look at your life. If you like to ride, fine...ride. Just stop trying to convince others that it means anything. Pathetic!
So let me get this straight, if people own a 4x4 then they are inbred morons?? You are a dumb ass my friend, So we like to get together on the weekend and play in the mud, at least we know where are kids are and what they are doing. You must have a really low self esteem and belittling others makes you feel good. Just because we hunt, fish, ride four wheelers, and get a little dirty does not make us inbred or morons. I guess just cuz I bees from the country, you tank I shud tawlk like this. Well guess what dickhead, graduated in the top ten percent of my class and there was 250 of us. Bless your pathetic little heart. Haha, why dont you bring yourself out to our neck of the woods and we will play a few redneck games. Oh, now I know why you wouldnt do that, because you aint got the balls to come out our way and say that. And just so you know, I was redneck bred, and redneck raised, and when I die, I will be redneck dead! I carry the redneck title with pride, Im not ashamed of where I come from!

Oh and I would like to say thanks to the Sinners and Saints. Earlier this year, my little cousin was killed on Easter Sunday, two days before his 16th birthday. I dont know these people but they took up a collection to help my family out with the cost of his funeral.

I don't think it's your lack of knowledge of these things that you have posted, I think you're just venting because your girlfriend or wife has hooked up with a biker and liked it. I doubt she left you for them though because being that she had to turn to a biker means your probably not enough to kick her to the curb. By the way mopeds or scooters don't count as bikes, when you say you ride a bike!

I did not mean to start a agrument over wearing helmets.
I do have personal experince with my grown child.
Had 3 wrecks on a croch rochet (not spelt correct}
Had helmet on all three times. Hit the highway payment each time. Yes, the helmet saved his life.
Now have child riding harlye with out helemt. Yes, I worry every time my I know my child is own his bike. When I say child late 30's lol.
Has children. I have seen helemts that do not have the flap or face cover what ever it is called. You never know when something might happen. Dont care how careful you are.
The reason the law was passed.
Because the state had to pay for people that had wrecks that did not have insurance and some would be long term paitents.
If they are not wearing helmet then more than likely they die. State does not have to pay.
Yes i know been told over and over my child that you can die and car wreck etc....
Point is no helmet crash on payment more than likely death. Than family lost thier loved one.
I could get hit by a car crossing the street. Get your point. dont mean to cause any hard feeling. Sorry if i did. I am a parent and yes i do worry.
I've seen hundreds of motorcycle accidents with my job and the difference between wearing a helmet and not is a open or closed casket! Most motorcycle injuries and deaths are caused by leg injuries not head injuries! I just think whatever Gods will is will be done and there's nothing you can do to stop it. By the way more people die in car accidents then in motorcycle accidents, just saying. Keep Arkansas free and kept the no helmet law!
