Am I the only one who thinks whoever is in charge out there needs to clean their catfish before they cook it? It always has that dirty part you have to eat around. I have gotten to where I just can't eat it anymore

I will agree. They do have really good food and service. But the fish is dirty. I used to eat it and just take that back part off but I dont even order it anymore.

Maybe someone should get the word to them. Thought I was the only person that thought that.

i ate there the other night, and was charged about $5.00 to much. The food is already high, without him adding to it. so if you go there make sure you know how much your meal is, and watch it when he rings you up, cause he may decide to add a few dollars to it.

I ate there tonight and yes, had the fish. I must say, their fish is nowhere near as good as it once was and the filets are soooo small now. Honestly, what they consider a piece of fish would be about 1/4 of a piece at most establishments. I'll tell you something else that is a heckuva lot smaller than in times past at couchs, the bbq salad! What they now call the large wouldn't even qualify as a small just a few years back. Used to like the place, but I simply can't afford it anymore considering the portions.

Sounds as if it is on a down hill move. Nearer to the bottom. Tips are probably short.

I don't tip based upon the portions because the waitress's have nothing to do with that. If my service is good and the waiter/waitress is friendly, then I will tip accordingly. You would think that the owner of the Paragould couchs would notice that his crowds are much smaller and take note. I am not the only one who has noticed the difference in the food and the portions there so I know he has heard about it from some other customers. The fish I was served Friday was lukewarm at best and about 2 1/2 inches long per fillet. Also, you used to get a sizble helping of french fries but I bet I had only 10-15 fries on my plate and no onion, wasn't even asked if I wanted onion. Heck, why not just tell customers up front that they can't afford to put any food on your plate unless your willing to pay double the price.

The Fish is raised locally and has nothing to do with them. All lies in the businesses hands.

I agree with you on the tip. The waitress is just there to take care of her customers. That is how they make a living. When people complain they do it to the waitress instead of the manager or owner which in return results to nothing because they dont listen to the employees.

I agree with the fish being lots smaller and not near as good! However, we have found a new place to eat fish believe it or not Wings 2 Go has awesome fish!!! Its large peices and prices are good and fish special on Wednesdays. We still eat a couch's for breakfast now and then basically because its the only place (I know of) to eat a sit down breakfast in paragould. The service is usually really bad there is one waitress I like to sit in her section but most of the time our service is very poor and they are not very busy. I take all of these things into account I used to be a waitress so I don't think I am too hard on them.

SHIT! IT's Couchs BARBEQUE!!!!! If I went to PIzza INN I wouldn't order a cheeseburger. I wouldnt go to burger king to order a Taco supreme. What Im trying to say, if you want GOOD catfish, go to a restaraunt with the word Catfish in the name..AS far as couchs Barbeque goes, Babreque is the best thing they serve because, THATS WHAT THEY SPECIALIZE IN ....BUT OINKYS BLOWS THEM ALL AWAY!!!!!

Have you really tried their BBQ. Good ribs on Friday and Saturday but the rest of the BBQ sucks.

Oinkys or BBQ shack either one blow couchs away when it comes to bbq. What someone said earlier is pretty accurate, couchs' is probably best for breakfast because they actually serve breakfast unlike anyone else. Couchs has really gotten worse in the last couple of years. Their prices are up, portions are down, food isn't as good, and service is starting to suffer as well. Paragould used to be known as a fish town, but now we are only known for fast food it seems. You want good fish, go to the parachute at the Walnut Ridge airport or Shortys in Holcomb Mo. I think all you have to do is to look at couchs crowd nowadays and that says it all.
