My husband and I were recently the victims of theft. Our vehicles were rummaged through and my husband lost two very sentimental items to him. He was a member of the Air Evac team that went to New Oleans to rescue victims of Katrina. In doing so he was awarded two Air Evac coins one for serving in the rescue of the Katrina victims and another for safety. These coins are of no monetary value only sentimental value to him. If anyone out there has knowledge of these two coins and would please post we would greatly appreciate it. I know we will probably get some rude comments and such but I don't know how else to get the word out. The break ins happened the night of August 26th on the east side of town.

The more blacks and mexicans that move into the area the more things like this are going to happen. It's just the way it is, It's just the way they are.

My vehicle has been broken into three times in the last 2 years...all by WHITE people. I have never been able to get any items back but I was able to find out the identity of the persons. Once a neighbor in an apartment complex and other times random kids. One guy admitted to stealing my CDs to trade for drugs! It's not a racial issue, it's a decency and respect issue.

What I dont get was how all these people say their cars were broken into yet most of them if not all of them WERE NOT LOCKED. It is very sad that you lost your stuff I wouldnt wish that on anyone but the times we live in you have to be careful!!!

If you are in and out of your car numerous times in a day it is hard to remember to lock your doors. It is a habit I am trying to get into. I hate a thief!

My vehicle wasn't broken into, but someone did steal my bicycle and my son's bicycle. They were in our backyard under a security light. I will say these thieves are gutsy. We live on the east in, but on a quiet street with older (well maintained) homes. Luckily for my son, it was his old bike, his new one was put away, but I no longer have a bike to ride with him.

Ok I'll give you the fact we should have locked our doors but I don't go through other peoples things. I control myself so I know others can too. I work hard for what I have. My husband has saved many lives over the years to receive his safety award and not to mention put his life in danger rescuing Katrina victims only to have some low life thief go through his vehicle and steal those coins that have no value whatsoever.

I hate that this happened to you, but ironically, it was probably someone who was saved during Katrina.
