Paragould Bowling Alley

I just have a comment to make. My children were kicked out of the Paragould Bowling Center on Saturday night apparently due to a new rule of not being able to be there after 9 pm without an adult. I wasn't aware of this rule and just wanted to let all of you parents know. I spoke to the owner because the manager was very rude to me when I approached him wondering why my children had been kicked out and sent to walk to Carls furniture down that back alley. I was told my children where sitting in the facility texting and not spending money and that the bowling alley was not a hang out spot for kids. So my question is what do our kids have to do these days except get in trouble. I understand a business wanting to control the situation and keeping trouble out but what about the good kids? I am very disappointed and wanted to pass the word to other parents who care. My children will not be back with or without me! My cousin and I picked our kids up promptly when they called but I was terrified thinking of them walking in that dark area. I was also told they were not a babysitting facility and I understand that they are not. What happen to the good old days when momma droped us off. What can we do to fix this problem. My teens have nowhere to go to stay out of trouble in Paragould!

I can see ur point. My kids r not the running around driving just yet phase. But I do kno some older teenagers don't really have hangout spots either instead of cruising constantly. Sometimes the "bad" kids ruin it for all. I've not seen anywhere for kids to hang out. I don't think there's anything wrong w dropping responsible kids off to the movies or bowling alley either. I would have been ticked n worried to have them walking in that dark area as well. I'm only one person and fairly new to Paragould. U can't even hang out at some parks past nine. My kids like this area but frankly I'm not impressed w much here myself.

The problem is BAD kids are hanging out at the bowling alley. These kids are getting in fights, videoing the fights, posting the fights on facebk and youtube. Some students have been arrested as a result.

You can do what they did in the 70's. Eric, Hyde and the others stayed in the Formans' basement smoking pot, (which is not addictive and harmful)and listening to Jackie talk about her hair. They never caused any trouble and were close to home too.

My kids stay HOME (they have a band) and play music but they got a ticket for 115 dollars for disturbing the peace....Makes me wonder....do they want them on the streets causing trouble so they can make their money(police)

Be reasonable. Playing music does not mean you have to rock the whole area. Other people don't want to listen to the "music?"

I have to agree with this. While I don't mind teens playing their music, I work an odd schedule...some days I have to sleep days, some I have to sleep afternoons/nights. You can turn an amp down and still hear it.:)
Its a great way to keep kids out of trouble. But you do have to keep people in mind.

As for the bowling alley. I can see the good they're trying here. They don't want kids to have a place to hang out and cause trouble. At the same time, you have to see that they are running a business. If the kids are just texting and not buying ANYTHING, they aren't contributing.
This said, I don't agree how it is being handled. They shouldn't be kicking them out into the dark streets. And they SHOULD be making it VERY CLEAR to parents, so they are aware that they need to be there.
