Join the Jehovah's Witness church. Then you don't have to celebrate.

Get off your dead rear and get a job. Don't expect others to support your mistakes.

Did you ever stop to think this person might be wanting to help with others or maybe there might have been some bad luck in the family where they might be just needing some help this year.

I'm sorry that you are concerned about your children may not have Christmas this year. As long as you have food and a roof over your head, then be thankful to God.
Some of the churches may be able to help you.
God bless you and I pray your children have a great Christmas.

I used to be one of those children that only got presents from churches because my parents were poor and asked for help. Why? Because they were too busy being selfish and spending what little money they did have on their personal habits such as drugs, alcohol, and cigs. YOU can help your children by putting them first becuase no matter what presents they get for Christmas, it's how you treat your children that they will remember. I would have traded what little presents that I got just to feel like a priority to my parents. So again... you are the best present that you can give your kids this year.

I used to be one of those kids who only got presents if a church brought them to us. My parents asked for their help. Why? Because my parents were too busy wasting what little money they had on their selfish habits such as cigs, alcohol and drugs. What I remember from those childhood Christmas memories was that a stranger cared more for me than my own parents. Presents under the tree is not what gives a child a great Christmas. It's the love and attention they recieve from their family. So YOU can help your child more than anyone by giving them YOU. I will never forgive my parents for putting themselves first and thinking that it was ok for everyone else to take care of me.

With so many of us kids in my family, we got one toy, maybe a doll or a toy truck, but we had all the food and fruit we could eat. We were poor but just being with family made our Christmas. We worked very hard for what we had as a whole family.
Nowadays kids don't know when Christmas comes and goes cause they have so many toys that they never even touch. I know because I have grandchildren that way.

If it is help you are GIVING, a church would be the best place. You could also find a business that has an "angel tree". If its help you are WANTING maybe you should think about disconnecting your internet till new year!!!!!!

I want to start this out by saying "not to be mean" but I'm not going to, because mean is exactly what I intend to be. My single mother worked her entire life to support my brothers and I. we didnt have much but what we had we earned, and we took care of it. I have worked my entire life to support you and your bad habits. I have given you food stamps, WIC, housing allowances, free phones and now you are going to get free abortion pills. I have given till it hurts. Put down your cigarettes, your booze, disconnect your cell phones (oh thats right they are free) get rid of your cable tv and your internet, stop spending money on tattoos and going out on Friday night and buy what you need to support the kids that have earned your living for you because I AM GIVE OUT

I am sorry that so many have responded with such anger. They do not know your situation but yet they act as if they do.

To answer your question, if you have a child in school you can contact the social worker at your school and they may can help you, I am also sure that the Mission is probably helping,as well as First United Methodist Church. You will have to meet certain income requirements but contact these places and they will tell you what you will need to bring as well as there hours/days of operation.

There are many people struggling in our current economy and I for one am very careful to stand in judgement on someone needing assistance....my view is "There but by the grace of God go I"

Good Luck

Unlike the various posters putting in their 2 cents & life stories...I am willing to help you if that's what your post is directed towards. I try to adopt a few families each year & I'd more than happy to assist you. If you would message me here & tell me your situation, I think we can work something out. You people should be utterly ashamed of your behavior. You know nothing about this person or situation..but, oh my... aren't you quick to judge. If your wonderful insight & advice could be converted over to food & money... this poster would be rich! Never ceases to amaze me how cruel & ignorant you people can be.

I don't understand why people are like they are. Me and my family bought 5 turkeys 5 cases of corn and 5 cases of green bean for the food baskets for families that are unfortunate for thanksgiving. God forbid If something tragic happens to your family. It doesn't matter what the parents do there are kids out there that need help. It's all about the kids right? How can people turn their backs on little kids that are innocent by standards. God have mercy on you. Where is the compassion?

Sounds like there is toooo much greed in this world. Greed never gets you anywhere. And at the end you will be lonely and sad. When you die you can't take your money or possessions with you. If you gave to someone who is less fortunate you will be blessed.
