I guess a certain shop owner in the old Keasler building didn't like the truth being told. He had the thread about his shop taken down. I thought it was only fair to warn the public on what he is doing.

Seems to be good at getting cars in and then finding so called extra problems. Most of the time its a sensor that you can't prove or disprove. On the other thread some were saying they were charged close to 50 percent over the original estimate.
Just a public warning service. Beware.

They kelp my car for three weeks and still had to take it somewhere else to get fixed. They put a wheel bearing on it but my brake and abs light was still on. I took it to another shop and they traced it to a broke wire. I never did need a wheel bearing. I could have spent 30.00 dollars instead of the 200. dollars. Live and learn.

Chris Oakes told me I needed a transmission for my car. I didn't have the money to have it fixed so I picked my car up. He charged me fifty bucks for diagnosing it.He told me that would come off the price when I brought it back to put a transmission in. I park the car in my yard for over a month until I could save enough to get it fixed. I was telling a friend at church about it. He came over to the house and hooked a scanner on it. A hour later (including running to the parts store)and less than 40 bucks my car is fixed. All that was wrong with it was a speed sensor that goes in the side of the transmision.
They say God works in mysterious ways. Well going to church on a Sunday night save me over a thousand dollars.

I had thought about going to him until I started reading these posts. I heard from a girl at work that he is really good at fixing cars but if hes screwing customers over then I will find a better mechanic. I had been going to Stone's Transmission&Auto Repair but I had to repeatedly take my vehicle back to them because my Check Engine light wouldnt stay off even after he had fixed what the scanner said was the issue. You almost dont know who to trust anymore yet these technicians supposedly are ASE certified. How in the hell do you get certified with ASE and then cant properly fix a mechanical issue?

I guess that would depend on what your ASE certification was in. Mechanic like to say they are ASE Certified. That makes you think they know what they are talking about. But just because a guy is ASE certified in air conditioning doesn't mean he can fix your tranny.

What your going to get from Chris is " we fixed your blah blah and then found out you also needed a blah blah blah." When what that really translates to is "we guessed that you needed a blah blah and was wrong so we put a blah blah blah on." And yes you get to pay for both.
I will give him that he is a smooth talker. But most con men are. Smile as they pick your pocket.

A friend of mine told me they charged him for replacing his transmission. They said they bought one from a salvage yard. The next time he changed his oil he got to looking. He has the same transmission he had when his truck went in. The only reason he knew it was he had a small chunk broke off on the side of his transmission. He had it looked at before to see if it was going to be a problem. Same chunk is gone now. He called and ask them and they said they would show him where they bought the transmission.Whatever they did fixed the problem but he was charged for a transmission he didn't get.

I doubt half this crap is true. What I know to be true is that my car went in with two stadium chair in the trunk. When it came out of the shop they were no longer in the trunk. I was very disappointed because I trusted Chris. These were a gift from my son to my wife and I for Christmas. I don't know if it was Chris or an employee but they were gone. I have recommended him to a lot of people. Many years ago I would have fliped and made a big deal. Now days I figure if thay need them that bad I can live with it. I know it cost them more than they were worth.

Go to Lafe. In the curve as you get in take that road to the right, I forgot the name but it's the one that goes straight into Marmaduke. Take the first road to the left I believe.

There's a shop on the right down there about a 1/4 a mile. YOu can't miss it, there's always like 100 cars there. The name is Mike I think and Kevin. They're great guys. They're booked up usually, but I have had them work on my $24k 67 Camaro and been happy with the work. I've taken things to them about 11 or 12 times now and only had 1 issue but that was from an employee. They don't lie to you as far as I can tell and have 80% of the time been CHEAPER than the original quote!
