I'm guessing you wanted fix the problem as cheap as possible.
I just wanted the problem fixed right. I knew it would not cheap. most mechanics are pricy . I could of found someone to do it cheaper but I knew it was a big job and i wanted a professional shop to do it and it still did not get done right.

if hes so bad then why does he have the biggest shop and parking lot full at all time? shop closes at 5.. he goes home midnight to 3 am.. i know this for a fact.. name one shop that is better.. you talk shit and made all this up cuz ur out of hand lotion.. get off the computer and spend time with ur kids b4 school starts.. fucktards
the reason his lot is full is because he can't get anyhting fixed. so he pulls em outside and theyn sit. i've talked to people that has had they're cars theren for months. one story after another.
for a better shop go to his brother or mark sieberts, or rudys, or mcnabb. really almost any place would be better

I am so thankfull for this thread. I thought that I was just chosen at random or maybe it was because I was a woman that I got screwed over. Now I see I'm not the only one Oakes treats this way. He had my car for three months and still could not fix it. He had alist of things he was suppose to have done but nothing fixed it. I ended up taking my car to a shop in Jonesboro and a man named Mike Boshea fixed it for 87.62. I spent over 300. at Oakes and nothing had changed. I bet if my husband was still with me this would not have happen.

Why is it people in Paragould don't understand that professional work isn't cheap? If you think you've overpaid Chris Oakes, then FIX the DAMN thing yourself! Or find that 'friend' of a 'friend' that can do it for next to nothing. I think people in Paragould are just jealous because someone has worked hard in their profession and yes, should be PAID FOR THEIR KNOWLEDGE!!! It's not 1960 anymore folks...knowledge COSTS MONEY!!

My Dad was a very good mechanic for 35 years. It is one of the hardest jobs there is or we'd all fix our own cars. When we tell a mechanic that something is wrong with our car, they have to find the cause opf the problem by a process of elimination. One particular problem can sometimes be due to a couple or several different things. Chris has done great work for me & I would recommend his work.

Does Mark Sieberts own Mark's Automotive on East Side? If so, I called him several times over a period of 2 weeks because I needed the air conditioner fixed. Every time I talked to him, he would take my phone number down again & tell me he'd call me right back. He never did! He definitely lost my business.

how do you know he charged them for work he didn't do. Just like church people to want something for nothing.
That's funny about church people. Many years ago, my boss told me he didn't take checks from people who had bible verses on their checks. He said too many bounced.

I Chris is a very hard working honest man and everyone who knows him would say the same. He has never taken advantage of anyone and tries desperately to take care of any realistic complaint he goes above and beyon for his customers and often eats a lot of the cost to keep from upsetting anyone. He takes it to heart when ppl complain and does everything in his power to fix it. This website I for ppl who are too afraid to post their real name to spread lies and gossip!

If you have a problem with Chris, call the BBB or the Chamber of Commerce, if any of you people complaining know what either is. If all these statements are true, then he won't last long, if they are false, well you know what you are doing. This is Paragould, the "Friendly Gossiping City".

People are whiny a**holes. I feel sorry for business owners who have to deal with people like you all the time. You can't please everybody all the time... so, if you're not happy take it somewhere else!

I took my car to him cause it was overheating and missing , he said it was cause a blowed head gasket. well he took off both heads and replaced both head gaskets . got it back and was charged over 1000 dollars and before I got home it overheated again went back they messed around and messed around dumping water in it cooling it off and drove it down the road and back and said it's fine. after 3 times of it . they found the problem which was the fan clutch. the head gasket was blowed cause he showed me. well he fixed the overheating problem with the new fan clutch. but it still has a miss that never got fixed . also it has a terrible valve chatter it never had before. after paying him over 1000 bucks I expect it to right.
I called him about it and he said bring it back we will figure it out. well it ended up there 5 different times in 2 weeks ,I will never take it back to him. For all of you say he did great. I am happy for you but the one time I went to him for a big problem ended up biting me in the a$$
You expect us to believe that you had two head gaskets changed, paid $1000, and then drove away? You need to script out your bullshit stories BEFORE you huff the paint troll.$1000 to have head gaskets changed! LMAO! I bet you're one of those rich kids that drive around in mommy and daddy's car they bought you, trying to make believe you're a gear head. You probably couldn't find the hood release without an Ipod app.

So what in your mind is overcharged???? You likely don't realize that people don't WORK FOR FREE!!

How do you qualify the 'overcharge?'? Because you didn't really want to pay the bill?? Too bad you can't add attachments here on Topix to post the real bill.

That's OK. You talk about proof. Customer should get a second opinion on Chris's work. You are so stupid that just because he says you needs something he is your hero. Lots of time he hasn't done anymore than plug a sensor back up but you still got charged for a new one. But no you think people are bitching. I know for a fact he charged me for work that was not performed. Don't matter to me if you still go back, that just means your a dumbass.
