Why has it taken so long? Hell, the Westside shootings happened 15 years ago!

Our kids will never be safe until all teachers are armed and have been given intense survival training. Teachers are the last line of defense. These are crazy times that call for drastic measures. They can no longer be only teachers. They must also be body guards. Sad but true.

If not the teachers, who should receive proper counter-fire training as a requirement for a teaching degree, then utilize some of these military veteran volunteers armed with rifles and back-up pistols. It's past time to stop our schools from being easy targets.

All Israeli school teachers are armed with either U.S. M-4 carbines or M-16A2 rifles and it works great for them. Lets do the same here in America.

In your opinin, should the teachers wear SWAT gear to go along with having the AR-15's hung around their necks as they lecture?

Just how do you think would be a good way to protect our children?

I saw on TV where someone had invented backpacks for children that had built in bullet proof back panels. It looked like a regular child's backpack.

Children should be protected in school the same way mine are protected at home. No crazed gunman ever came in my house and tried to shoot up the place, and for good reason - they'd die quickly.

Yeah, that's the reason that no one has ever done that yet in your house.

Idiot.

No, it's not.

The reason that no crazed gunman has ever came in your house yet and tried to shoot up the place isn't because you would supposidly immediately shoot them.

First of all, such occurences are extremely rare, and that's most likely why it actually hasn't occured in your house.

Secondly, how could your plans, something that such a hypothetical gunman most likely (to an extremely high degree) wouldn't know be the reason for such inaction on their part?

Thirdly, if such a gunman did know your plans, what would prevent him or her from accounting for it in their actions to thwart your apparently ever-present reaction?

Forthly, assuming that such a hypothetical gunman actually existed and knows your plans and that he or she couldn't thwart them because of your awesomeness, you are assuming that he or she would act rationally given that information.

Idiot.

Yes it is.

How conveniently you ignore that it's a common occurrence in cities with strict gun control. And that it's the so-called "Gun Free" zones that get shot up.

No, it's not.

How conveniently you ignore (edit out of a post before responding to it no less) a factual and logical refutation of your specific absurd assertion that you reasserted before now conveniently moving on to something else.

Idiot.

I'll just ignore you from here on, as you're simply a pompous ass with no logical leg to stand on.

No, it isn't.

I have shown you why it isn't, as I have explained it to you in very simple irrefutable terms, which you ignored and didn't refute, but I bet you regularly ignore facts and logic, as you have now asserted as your intentions, after the fact.

Idiot.

You are far more likely to be struck by lightning than killed by an "assault" weapon.

Most schools already have emergency response plans. Part of those plans recommend that students do not bring cell phones to school. If there is an intruder in a school today the kids will be on the phone. This will cause cell phone overload and make them unusable by first responders and there will be a lot of parents at school so many the first responders would not be able to pick out the real intruder. But do you believe parents would not protest if their little darlings were not allowed to have their cell phones with them.

Just like you are far more likely to be struck by lightning than have a gunman storm in and try to shoot up your house.
