At around noon on Wednesday the police had 4 guys laid out on the ground and tearing their truck apart. Cops had the guns drawn on them and everything. Just curious what happened nothing on the news or in the paper.

Wal-Mart has a new anti-theft policy. If anyone is caught stealing more than $1000 worth or merch or repeat offenders, the wal mart police can use excessive force to stop the perps! Those guys are lucky they didn't get capped!

...and yes, Wal Mart has its own police officers now.

wow ummm...thats just completely crap. i mean yea people who steal need to be taken care of but that way is just crap. they need to just be taken to the back of the store and talked to and the cops deal with them there. not in the middle of the parking lot. and i knew that wal mart had there own cops i think they have for a while....well undercover cops that is anyways but still theifs and shoplifters need to be taken care of behind closed doors where noone can see it.

I disagree, they should be humiliated, it is wrong to take things that do not belong to you, and in the long run it costs those of us who do pay more money.

That's for sure!! Why should they be given the respect of being taken behind closed doors?!? They are theives and that is one of the lowest lifeforms in my book.

You couldn't be farther from the truth about what happened yesterday if you were living on the moon.

actually the lowest lifeforms are rapist, molesters, and murderers. and i was pretty much talking about guns being pulled on people in the parking lot that is not right. i mean unless they had guns pulled i can understand but from what i can tell they didnt thats just cruel and not righht at all.

As a former Walmart employee who has been the witness to theft from an employee's stand point. Wal*Mart security is top notch the blend in very well, I have NEVER seen 1 of them carry a gun but if you act suspecious(?) then they are going to follow you around and have someone watching every camera angle they have on you from the security room located on Wal*Mart property.

I have also been a witness to how they TAKE someone down who they believe to have committed the crime. They usually work in pairs. 1 will follow you from the store while 1 is standing just outside the door you will be exiting. They quietly approach you and tell you what they have observed. Then they escort you to the security room when they talk to you more while waiting for the local PPD to show up.

I really can't believe that they would have had guns pulled. The only way I can see this really happening is that the suspect had and brandished a gun while robbing the place. Then they would have reason to fear for their lives as well as any by-standers. Then they would if they carried guns. As far as having the perps on the ground, did they try to run, were they tackled, what just happened. Are you repeating what you actually saw or what someone told you?

Also, I agree with the princess, molester (child), murderers and the such are much much worse than a thief. Shoplifting is a Crime and if caught you should be punished. But to say that they are the lowest of low I couldn't agree less.

I also disagree. Why give them the opportunity to be reprimanded in private? They do not deserve to preserve their dignity. Stealing is a crime! And, yes it will make other thieves think twice about stealing from Wal Mart or any other place if they are treated like the criminals they are out in the open. It's just too bad that other business can't afford their own law enforcement. Maybe we would have less crime and the law abiding citizens wouldn't have to worry about paying higher prices because of theft.

As for whatever supposedly happend in the parking lot,I wouldn't take anyone's word for it that "guns" were drawn, and if they were chances are that it was not a simple matter of shopplifting.

My god you people are so stupid. Wal-Mart anti theft people working but they do not have guns and they can't pull guns on people. It was a drug deal that want on and it was the State Police and the Sheriff's Department and some undercover guys from Jonesboro. If you don't know what is going on you will just make something up.

I didn't say that theives were the lowest...I stated in my opinion that they were ONE OF THE LOWEST. My goodness...im perfectly aware that someone murdering or molesting or raping is worse than a theif....Geez!!

The funny thing is....someone is just GUESSING on what happened and it has been turned into some huge dreamed up story. Not one of you even know what happened...its all been a guess! That is the part of this thread that should be getting picked apart. Not my opinions of who is the lowest life!

Ok that kind of makes sense. I was there and heard people yelling stop put your hands up and seen the cops arresting some guys and searching their truck just wondering. Thanks

The reason we do it 'out in the open' is to deter other thieves. If it was done behind closed doors, then word wouldn't spread to not steal. If you don't steal anything then you have nothing to worry about. But you do kind of sound suspicious. Have you stole anything from our stores?

This is 2008. Walmart security does carry handguns now and can use lethal force if they feel their safety is threatened.

So you're saying she steals when she gets bored? That's not healthy. I'm sure she'd get really bored sitting in a jail cell.
