All I know is they didnt make her go. I guess it depends on the officer because he took a report and child services did step in.

Granny, first of all the police cannot make the custodial parent give the child to the noncustodial parent. The do not get involved in family disputes. They will on the other hand let u file a complaint an put It on record, for when you take the custodial parent to court for not giving him/her visitation rights. A judge is the only one to decide if the other parent is unfit, unless childservices step in.
I guess I forgot to mention the first part of that in my last post. You are absolutely correct. The police would only serve to provide you with the written documentation necessary to take before the judge.

I would like to advise you on something I believe you are going to try & do. Getting a DNA test now is a waste of your time. And you will have to pay for that. 1 of the 3 children are biologically his correct? Did the other 2 come from a prior relationship or were their infidelities on your part? If his name is on the birth certificate whether out of adoption or birth, they are his. If you go before a judge & tell him this, he will ask you why you didn't have this arguement when custody & support was ordered. Also if he has had suspicion these children weren't biologically his within the first 24 months only then could he had ceased his statushood as their father. Not 5 to 6 years later after raising them. I try so hard to be encouraging & give good advice. But I feel so sick & sorry for your children. Please go have your tubes tied, clipped & burned. A complete hysterectomy would be my preference just to make sure you can't put yet another child thru this.

That money is owed to the parent and NOT the 18 year old! They are the ones who stepped up and payed when the daddy couldn't. So yes, they need to be paid and not the now 18 year old. And NO a police officer will NOT inforce a court order for visitation, they will tell you to file a police report and take it to family court! Been there, done that. Many many times. They will NOT take a child from a custodial parent unless there is harm.
So be prepared for the baby mamma to hide the kids to avoid the cops when they come knocking on the door and tell her "Mam, he's here to pick the kids up". She will be to chicken shyt to face the cops but knows they won't do shyt about it.
Ummm...when a child turns 18 that child support that is owed goes directly to that 18 year old child. That is the law. Been there had a family member go through that. A relative's 18 yr. old daughter got the child support that was owed by her daddy. Once they are grown, the father doesn't owe the mother anything. In Arkansas they only have to pay up to age 18, any back support they owe after they turn 18 goes to the child. This is a fact.
Even if a parent doesn't want the back support, the child who is grown can take the other parent to court and get all the owed back support and it's for them. Seen this happen before many times.

Are you really serious? I guess your one of those moms that make the rules.
You darn right I am serious! A REAL man will do whatever it takes to help his children out financially. If he dont, shame on him. That's not a mom making the rules, that's just doing the right thing!

according to child support office when i asked why the back child support was coming to me instead of my now 26 year old was told because it is owed to you and if i chose to give it to him i could.i try to but he says he dont want anything from him.so you are wrong on that one.also as long as the child is in school including college or votech up to 23 the parent has to pay.check the law.i ask once again ,why does it not go to the child then?i been fighting for over 20 years,so i am not new to this.

So the man should pay his childsupport even though the mother is not letting him see his kids? I am a woman and I be damn if I were a man I wouldn't give her a damn dime. I'd get me a lawyer and take her a$$ to court.

Agreed, back child support does not go to an adult child. It was the parent who spent the money to raise them and it was them who had to go above and beyond when the non custodial failed to pay. So they are just paying back what they should have paid to support their child. Basically paying their ex back the money to help raise that child. A judge will not order back child support to an adult minor since they are not the ones who supported themselves growing up!

Its so funny how everyone thinks they know so much in paragould, ar. First of all the law is different for different circumstances. Usually if the mother doesn't sue for back child support the adult child can. As far as visitation goes if the father has not had any MEANINGFUL part of the childs life and does not REGULARLY pay child support he can lose his rights. I have studied law for 25 years. My sister told me to look at the nonsense in this post on topix. No one knows what will happen in their PARTICULAR case until a judge hears all sides from any close members to the said child.

A child can NOT sue if the mother doesn't. I've worked in the court room for the last 8 years! People are STUPID STUPID STUPID. I too have studied law and work side by side with a REAL custody lawyer and child support is one of our main cases. You shouldn't give out ignorant information!

sounds like u studied in paragould lol ppl make sure you do not use this so called lawyer haha...dumbass....neways child support shud be put in either an account or at least to (in some cases neways) the .mothers guardian if shes young...bc young mothers rarely use the cs for the child...86% of young adult mothers use cs to get drunk, high, or on their mens drug or alcohol habit...either that or make child support go onto some type of credit card (not the ones now where they can be used for nething) but make it so it can be used only for things such as food, child clothing n things of this sort....

It takes more than clothes and food to raise a child, there's also shelter, lights and so on! And I disagree that 86% of mothers misuse the child support. Welfare can only do so much! And child support is nowhere near the help needed to care for a child.

OH STOP ALREADY!! I wish I'd never replied to this subject. My dang phone is going to blow up from "replies to you." anyone with the Topix app on their phone knows what I mean, lol. But, I'm being serious. It isn't doing any good to try to help this person who asked for it which in turn has already made up her mind. She doesn't care about what's right or legal, only about getting her way at everyone else's expense. Grrrrrr!!! Can't make a horse drink!!!

Well as a matter of fact I did not study law in paragould thank the good lord. I dont even live in that no teeth town. I just responded because my sister told me to look at how dumb it was. As a matter of another fact, I represented a girl who just turned 18 who lived on her own and sued her father for back child support and won. She received $50 a week up until he just paid her the full $5000. I told you, every case is different. You my dear are the one putting ignorant information on here. Go talk to the good ole judge if you want to learn something.

Are you an ambulance chaser? Attorney covers a vast area. My information came from a valid source in Craighead county. They have been in FAMILY law for close to 30 years. Greene county is not different. I found the websites very informative & "old timer" has lived it. I find it ironic you want to come in at the end with guns blazzing saying that we're wrong. Some post were uncalled for but if you would read the original posters comments you'll see what's going on. I don't see how life experience & what people have had to go thru is any less meaningful .

You didn't represent anyone! You're not a lawyer. Your grammer and choice of wording pretty much sums that up! And your "sister" telling you to look this site up is just a bunch of b/s. You surf these sites with nothing to do but fuss with people.

The laws do vary but one thing remains the same. The parent who was stiffed on the support is who collects unless that parent is no longer. Many states collect from dead beats without the other parent starting any actions. When I was 28 my mother received a larger check after the death of my father to settle his back support. She didn't ask for it and they didn't let her know it was even in the works. Quite a nice surprise she received.

Putting a topix app on your phone is a sure sign of genius.
