Regardless of numerous attempts to dissuade the police from doing their job in patrolling the streets in high crime areas they will soon move ahead as planned. However, for those of you who feel threatened you can breathe a sigh of relief. If you do not present ID when asked by the cops you will not be arrested.
If you can't be satisfied with the way they are doing this now there is no pleasing you.

I really think the only issue people had with this was the stop and ID policy. Now that Cpl. Brad Snyder refuted what Police Chief Stovall said in the
Daily Press about charging citizens with obstruction of governmental operation, I think things will calm down a little.

That was the only unconstitutional provision. Everything else is perfectly legal and since Snyder's comment, I think they should proceed.

What's so terrible about showing your ID?If you got nothing to hide I wouldn't mind.

People don't want to be FORCED to show their ID. Some people will voluntarily show their ID, while others don't want to mess with it. It's not that they have something to hide, it's the fact that police can't force you to identify yourself. It's the principle of the matter.

Consider this:
(1) Police are normal citizens protecting other citizens.
(2) All citizens are equal.
(3) Citizens aren't obligated to identify themselves to other citizens.
==========
Therefore, citizens aren't obligated to identify themselves to police.

Not only does it flow logically, it is against Amendment IV to the US Constitution (unreasonable search and seizure of a person's identity).

If it weren't for the people who get bent out of shape about things like this, you wouldn't have the freedoms you enjoy today. It's these people who keep the government in check and keep the governmental powers limited.

Quit being such a nosy old woman sticking her nose in the police forces business. You act like you are the head honcho and everything needs to be approved through you before implemented.
