People walking in the parking lot at Wal-mart are so inconsiderate, You can be backing out of a space with some of your vision blinded , and they will walk right behind you , You better have eyes in the back of your head. They also walk right down the middle of the parking lane rather then go to one side so cars can drive thru.

I agree. I've had kids dart out in front of me with their parents lagging about 20 or so feet behind. Sometimes folks just stop mid-aisle to look for their car instead of moving to the side and out of the flow of traffic.
I have all the patience in the world for those who are elderly, pregnant, disabled, etc. and are not able to move as fast - but for those that are able to, please speed it up. Pedestrian right-of-way doesn't mean you have to be inconsiderate of others.

I drove thru there Friday night and there were teenagers out there playing catch with a freakin pumpkin! Its ignorant that the teens leave the movies and go hang out in WalMart parking lot! Itsnt that loitering? Parents, make your kids stay at the movies or stay at home! WalMart parking lot is not the place for the darned oh brats!

It could be worse, up here in Fort Smith they shoot each other in the parking lots.

Cars you can dodge bullets you can't.

I don't want to be hit by either , but I think people need to be more aware of what they are doing when they are walking in the parking lot. I almost hit 2 ladies , I was pulling out of my parking space and they just kept on walking behind me .( I didn't see them when I started pulling out) Shook me up . Didn't bother them.

Wait. Why hasn't anyone mentioned the fact that the parking spaces are angled, because you're supposed to drive a certain direction down the isles! I wish cops would ticket people who fail to do so. It is part of the driving laws

Don't get me started on this subject!!! I especially love it when people will walk halfway out into the designated pedestrian walkway in front of the doors and then STOP to catch up with ol' Sally Mae who they haven't seen in a million years! GET OUTTA THE DAMN ROAD!!! And whats worse is they bring that ignorance inside with them! Have ya noticed how they don't know how to drive shopping carts or get out of the aisle when people are trying to pass. Heaven forbid you say excuse me, they look at you like you have 3 heads! All we ask is for a little consideration for others around you!!!

What about the drivers out there on the parking lot that never look behind them before backing up? Thinking that is some one is behind them they will get out of the way. What about all the drivers that go through the pedestrian walk with out slowing down, and expecting the pedestrian to stop for them? Some times I want to take my cart and give it a hard shove into that car.May the next time they will pull their head out of their butt.

I go to Wal-mart daily. I say an average of twice a day. that would be 10-14 times per week, at least before fuel got so expensive. I do have to use patience which cost nothing unless I am in to big of a hurry. If so, we should start earlier. Come on, folks let us love one another. I like Wal-mart, with the people that goes there and works there. A trip to wal-mart is entainment to me. I enjoy pestering all of you all. Yes I know taxpayer, who don't?

I got hit in the Walmart Pedistrian crosswalk in Jonesboro 3 years ago and I was not at fault. As I was walking a SUV turned and hit me head on and I threw my arms out to protect myself and by the grace of God I thought to use the momentum from the vehicle hitting my arms to jump up onto the hood and when I landed on my feet I was standing beside the driver's door. His windows were tinted and his stero was so loud that I had to scream for him to roll down his window. I didn't realize how bad I was hurt until my adreline calmed down. I had numerous neck, arm, back and shoulder injuries and I am very thankful that I didn't have my children with me. Of course he didn't have any insurance or a driver's license and to this day I still hurt. If I had not been watching and being careful he would have knocked me down and ran over me he said he never saw me.

Lets not make this a pedestrian vs. driver issue. There are idots on both sides of the driver door.

Drivers need to drive slower in the paring lot and watch out for pedestrians, especialy the elderly and children. If a pedestrain is in your way with no attempts to move out of your way, they may not be paying attention. Honk your horn to get their attention and then hopefully they will move out of your way.

As for pedestrians not being conciderate of other, this does get out of hand. People don't realize that vehicles have blind spots when backing out and won't take heed. Yes, pedestrians have the right-a-way, but it's stupid to just step out in front of a car because you have the right-a-way. That's just asking to get hit. Sure, the guy in the car may be at fault for not watching, but is it worth your life if you get killed?

Pedestrians and motorists all need to pay more attention and not be in such a hurry(but don't just drag your feet either). If we can all follow that, the Wal-Mart parking lot will be a much safer place.

Ok.../rant on

Inside the store. People, when you come out of an isle with your cart, please look both ways before pulling out just as you (hopeful) would when pulling out of a side street in your vehicle. Don't just dart out blindly and don't pull out turning one direction while looking the other. I was hit by a cart a few different times when I worked at Wal-Mart just trying to walk to the front of the store down the main isle.(It was amazing how many people looked at me like it was my fault when they hit me.) I would just bare it and move on. Now that I no longer work there, if I'm hit by a cart in that way again, there will be a problem as I will tell you to your face how stupid you are and draw out a diagram of what you did wrong. People also need to stop blocking the isles with their little familiy reunions. Move aside to chat so others can get by you and shop. And women(I rarely see men do this, so I'm sorry for singling women out here, but...) If a pair of you are going to shop together and insist on getting 2 carts(1 each), please don't walk slowly down the isles side by side. You are blocking the whole isle when you do this making it difficult for others to shop and for Wal-Mart associates to do their jobs.

My point is this. You are not the only one in the store shopping. Stop acting like it.

I hope everyone has a lovely evening.:D

lol How so? Also, if you are going to quote me, then quote me correctly please.

At anyrate, I expressed the views from both sides. Safety is EVERYONE's responsibility. Maybe you should have quoted the following.

"Pedestrians and motorists all need to pay more attention and not be in such a hurry(but don't just drag your feet either). If we can all follow that, the Wal-Mart parking lot will be a much safer place."

But you have to remember that by law pededtrains have the right-a-way.My kids almost got hit by a car when we were getting into our car. The people pulling out next to us did not care that we were standing there.
