SOLUTION, I admire your determination in dealing in a rational way with all these plagiarizers and T bagger clowns, especially when at times you have no idea if you are debating the poster or a cut and paste job from some wacko T- bag -blog....
I am amazed how people like SAM and LOCAL IDIOT really believe they know more than academia and all the economists and sundry experts our government employs...
MEXITROLL, of course, is in a class of his own, he even claims he knows more than the Pentagon does and refers to the civilian version of the M16 that was used to slaughter little children at Sandy Oak as a "pop gun"
God!
Talk about "the T bagger clown show"
PS.
I can hardly wait for TWP's analysis of my post....HA-HA-HAAA!
If you are stating that our "academia and economists" have done a good job as stewards of our economy, I would submit to you that you have your head planted firmly up your arse.

And you've never replied to my points about the stimulus of WWII getting us out of the depression. You never answered my point that even if the huge government War effort is to be called 'socialism'-- it worked. It did work, didn't it?
You just keep going back to spending cuts-- and I gave you a link by the CBO which went over all possible cuts and the reasons for and against. I also gave you my stance about how cuts should be approached, but I certainly don't have the knowledge about all of our agencies and about where the waste and overlaps are. If you know all of the specific data involved with all of our agencies-- everything about each budget, and how to SMARTLY reduce the size and expense-- let's have it.
Attending to these details would be a long and involved process, and that's what our politicians should be doing. Instead they spend their time cozying up to the fat cats and begging for more campaign money.
It's the T bagger clown show-- in Congress, and right here in Topix.
Yup, just like I thought.
You don't have any suggestions for spending cuts....you never did.....because you favor spending more and more, and more.

I have made it simple. mandatory 5-10% spending cuts across the board. Let the individual depts. figure it out.......including the military.

If one area requires more spending(i.e. SSI, medicare) it must be funded by new tax increases or funded by new taxes through the democratic process......or the money must come from another dept....period.

No bill should ever be passed without an accompanied specified source of revenue....period. The days of finding a funding source somewhere down the road for current spending(including the wars) have brought us to where we are. In other words....I favor a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. America needs to take the power to borrow away from the D.C. politicians. It has become painfully obvious that they are not up to the task.

The over spending cannot go on forever....even a moron should agree with that premise. The sooner we begin reigning in the debt, the better it will be for all of us.

A simpleton answer from a simpleton mind.

Blanket cuts are like using a butcher knife on a brain tumor.

Since you want loose figures thrown around, here's just a few of the items our Congress should look at...

Cut back Homeland Security by 50%. This agency was started by Bush with an executive order and is one of the most pervasive attacks on our personal liberties we've ever experienced. Obama let it continue, so he's also guilty.

Increase funds for the ATF by 50%. Thanks to the NRA and other gun lobbyists we've had only 2000 ATF agents overseeing gun and ammunition sales-- not to mention overseeing alcohol and tobacco transactions-- over the last 20 years.
Congress has not even approved an ATF head since 2006.

Fund the part of the Dodd/ Frank bill that oversees Wall Street and the big banks. The big banks are now even larger than they were before the financial meltdown-- they are more 'too-big-to fail'than ever. But the politicians get billions of dollars from these crooks, and don't want to upset the gravy train.

The bank HSBC, for example, was caught money-laundering for terrorists and drug cartels. They got a fine equal to 4 weeks of their profits, big deal. And NO ONE went to jail for these crimes. The reason they were let off with a slap on the wrist, according to the government, is because arresting them would "de-stabilize" the banking industry.

So these criminals were let off easy because they were too big to fail. I blame Obama and his administration for this blunder. But the T baggers in Congress are also guilty-- the big banks are one of their pimps. They won't fund Dodd/ Frank, which was at least an attempt to rein in these thieves.

When we have another huge economic catastrophe both parties will be guilty for letting it happen AGAIN.

Lol,
In your infinite wisdom you believe that even these insignificant cuts will be agreed upon by the most divided nation/government since the civil war?
Now really teepee, whom is being a simpleton?

This is the obama era, where nobody trusts anyone.
Nope, a balanced budget amendment DEMANDED by "we the people" will be the only way to solve our problems. The politicians in D.C simply cannot be trusted anymore......particularly obama.

You poor little deluded one...

It is amazing that in this day and age (to use an old cliche) we still have people like you who fancy themselves to be so much more enlightened than all our brightest economic minds combined...

The US economy is far more complex than someone like you could possibly imagine, and when one takes into account the interrelationships between our economy and the rest of the world's economies, your type of "common sense" will go "a long ways" towards running America back into the stone age...

Therefore, would submit to the casual reader that you do not know your arse from a hole in the ground...

Casual readers can see what you are........another ole socialist who thinks that government is the answer to everything.
As evidenced in recent times, government cannot always be trusted, and more often than not, government makes decisions that have no basis in truth or fact.
Let us talk about the bipartisan decision to go to war in Iraq....or the bipartisan decision to repeal Glass steagall...Hmmmmm?????

A change of heart from you????Hmmmmmm?????

Really a stupid statement that shows your ignorance. Most all military type "assault rifles" are more powerful than my single shot 22 bolt action that I use for squirrel hinting.

And I’ve got a 12 gauge shotgun that depending on the size shell and its “grains” of powder might or might not be more powerful that my 270.

You are making my point, you perverted ole socialist bastard.
You point to the "evil military industrial complex" and the "evil big banks" as a source of our nations problems debt, while I point to other lobbyists who have bought our politicians.
The end result is the same. We are hopelessly in debt at all levels of government(except those that must adhere to a balanced budget mandate).

So again I say, placing our faith in these politicians/experts to be good stewards of our economy has not worked out very well.....for a variety of reasons. Your answer is to give them more money and hope that they will "see the light". lmao........
My answer is a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Take the power away from the lobbyists and their elected political whores.

Now, you ole nincumpoop, whom is being a dope?

Au contraire you ole fool.
Read my lips.
Government is not the answer, government is the problem.

Unlike you socialist drones, I would like to reform ALL levels of government spending, including the "dreaded military complex" (that also happens to be the best military in the world).
I will say it one more time...perhaps you should read it slowly as to improve you comprehension:
5-10% federal spending cuts...ACROSS THE BOARD!.....and a balanced budget amendment with a realistic target date.....say in 2016....and then, get very serious about the national debt with a fiscal conservative in the whitehouse.
I would even favor a national sales tax(specifically dedicated to the national debt) if a realistic balanced budget amendment were passed.....and adhered to.

You continue to place your faith in those politicians/economic experts who have totally phuqued up the works. You just can't help yourself. You NEED big government to tell you which way is up.......lmao.

In other words, you are a hopeless old moron.

You are not very bright, are you...?

But that does not stop you from rambling, does it...???

First you whine just like SAM that "the government is the problem, " and then you go on to say our military is "the best military in the world," but isn't our military run by our government...????

With that said, weren't you paying close attention when SOLUTION quite clearly pointed out to you that flat "across the board" cuts are a non starter, if for no other reason that some parts of the government are bloated and others barely manage to make ends meet...???

If you can not understand that then.... oh! what's the use...
