Could not have happened to a worse bank, unless we are talking about B of A.

What's the problem? He's just exercising his 2nd Amendment right to bear arms.

Now if he had on a suit, tie and did this on a daily basis, he could have been a typical Wall St financer...

My daughter and 10 of her friends were sitting in front of the movie theatre waiting for the twilight series and new release. They said the commotion was crazy, cops everywhere, all of it taped off. They said they saw a guy on a bike but who knows if it's the same one. Hope they catch him, the police reported that he had a gun so all the kids in line waiting started to freak out but once they realized he was using it just to rob the bank and not to go on a shooting spree they calmed down and are now enjoying the movie! One thing I dont understand is that the movie theatre would not open and let them wait inside during this even though they were repeatedly asked, I think that was a bad call, they could have been putting many kids in harms way waiting for them to open the doors. Im not real happy about them not having any problem taking all these kids money but then when a situation like this arrises the least they could have done was let the kids in so they were (felt) safe. It was up to the managers discretion, he decided to keep the doors locked and all the kids lineed up in front of his building. Shame on him/her. Had it been their kid out there, I can promise you the doors would have been opened. I wish everyone would look out for all the kids as if they were their own, I know I do.

I would imagine if some of those kids had been there since 1:30, the theatre had no choice but to keep the doors locked. There is no way they would have had enough employees to keep track of dozens of kids running around, & you can be certain they would have been. The one show doesn't start until midnight so they probably didn't have much choice but to do as they did. This goes on whenever they have a new release, the kids line up. Down in Chico kids were camping out to see a movie. It seems silly, but I guess it gives the kids something to do with their time.

We will see more & more of this as unemployment rises, the economy continues to struggle & the politicians take home their "FAT" checks along with all their "perks". Look around people. I'm glad he was just a robber(check out Chase's profits this 1/4)and not a lunatic out to harm people.

The economy is always bad for losers. Even in a good economy. Only a loser with half a brain, who has been to jail before and doesn't mind going back, would risk 20 years in the can for $5000.

You say you wish that more people would look out for the kids like they were their own? I wish more people had brains and knew when to use them. Maybe that is the problem, they were watching out for the kids just like they were their own? I do get your meaning, but really I wish a few people would realize, "treat them like their mine not your's, because if you don't things could get very ugly". I live in the real world. Manager should have let them in, not doing so could very well could have endangered them. I as a parent of two teenage girls say to my girls "I guess we will be saving a lot of money now". The manager should have treated them like they were mine.

Pretty common way to rob a bank:

http://www.cnn.com/2010/CRIME/06/29/californi...

Its all about timing. First off there is a delay between the alarm and the officer being dispatched. Think about it. Just takes a few seconds to slip away on a bike, especially in this area. plus there are only three cops working the city. Then they have to secure the bank for evidence after the fact and talk to witnesses. Doesn't leave much time to find the bad guy, especially if he had an accomplice to help him get away. And if the cops are busy answering phone calls and writing reports, or busy on a traffic stop, like you say, writing tickets to unlicensed drivers, they are going to be delayed. Its just physics

The Paradise police are very cool guys, They are only after speed freaks. They know that the majority of citizens love this oasis in the foothills away from the big city life, here you can live and let live. And here all the children are angles and never get in trouble and mind their parents.Oh its so peaceful here you would never know there was a big bad world out there.

Many years ago a man rode into town on a horse, he robbed the wells Fargo bank of $5000'00. rode off down the trails and was never caught, they blamed the police and sheriff for a bad job of not catching the guy. sound familiar?

Yep, someone posted that it was too hard to keep the kids inline at the theatre. Well, all they had to do was open the snack bar, open the video arcade and close off the hall leading to the seats. Also, the show didnt start at 12:01am, it started at 6:30pm with the other 2 showing before the new premiere. The theatre manager had said the kids could get in and wait BEFORE the bank robbery, when it happened they locked the doors and left all those kids defenseless against a guy with a gun riding right towards them. No excuse for that manager. They need to replace the manager and put a PERSON in there instead of a robot who only looks out for himself. Like I said, had it been their kids right next to this, they absolutely would have opened the doors to get the kids safely inside during the commotion. They just lost any more of my money too, I'll take my kids to Chico from now on all thanks to the P.O.S. manager. I really dont care about the bleeding hearts that say he did what he should have, anyone with half a brain knows this is pure unadulterated Bull Sh**. Gee, everyone wonders why no one shops or does anything on the ridge, well, heres a good example of why.
