This is so cool to see. There was also an article in the local Papillion Times about a sculpter. I would love to see the artist community in Papillion get together and find a way to open a small cooperative studio in downtown Papillion.

What I would really love to see is either that old dingy corner behind Runza (used to be a small one person bank office) cleaned up and turned over to them... or even better, that Public Works building is really cool and artsy (next to the fire station). Move the city out of that building and make that the art hub of downtown. That would fit in really nice with the nice way they have done the mainstreet. Plus since it is by some of that more industrial stuff they could have some metal working arty people -or like the Papillion Times mentioned - even a small foundry (or Kiln?) for the scuplters.

Here is that article in the Papillion Times:

Artist makes the mold

Artist Susanne Bradley has kept her passion for bronze sculpting in the almost four years she has lived in Papillion.

The area doesn't have a foundry to meet her needs, Bradley said, but she continues to make molds and send them off to foundries in Colorado and other areas. The result is small statues of ballerinas, animals and a variety of other characters.

Her interest first sparked in 1986, and she started sculpting at the Firehouse Art Center in Norman, Okla.
