This is absolutely ridiculous...so now we have to bus/taxi kids all over the city? Our city is already going broke and now this...I am all for integration, but what happened to helping all students. Is making Papillion-La Vista Schools (and any other district) pay $400,000 for 67 students helping the other students? That is a lot of money that is being taken away from schools and THE OTHER KIDS!!
It always seems that politicians pass laws before they know all the facts and this law is no exception. They passed it without even getting an estimate on what it would cost. In this economy, that wasn't the smartest idea. No wonder the city of Omaha is broke by a bunch of laws or institutions (the Qwest Center?) going up that aren't being carefully thought through. What will they think of next to tax us all to death?
