In Jamesville, NC we have two local places to eat during this time of the year. Sometime in January or February a place at the river will open and will be serving fish roe, a variety of fish, oysters, and other things which go along with the seafood. The two places we now have open are getting so many complaints and I am constantly hearing regulars saying they are not going back to eat at the Chuck Wagon or the Grill. A hamburger does not cost what the owners are charging nor should a serving of something without two vegtables cost as much as $7.00 plus. This is happening folk! I suggest unless these prices cease and go back down to where they once were that everyone who wants to eat out take their business to their own kitchens where one knows what exactly is going into the foods prepared. I realize that everyone cannot deal with salt intake, but when a piece of chicken is tough and has no taste at all, then something is wrong. Who is cooking or preparing all of the foods at both places is a question I cannot answer. Lots of people are complaining about the weak coffee served at the Chuck Wagon. In the past week, I've heard several say that they will not be going back to the Chuck Wagon or the Grill and that they will drive the extra miles to Plymouth and Williamston where the prices are not to the extreme. This note is not intended to hurt or damage anyone's feelings, but to let the owners know before it is too late for them to get a grip with their prices before they end up on the short end of the stick so to speak. Apparently I haven't learned yet about purchasing food because I still do although I'm not a big eater so the prices aren't effecting me that much. No one's food is tasty to me...guess I am just curious and can't be satisfied. Could be my taste buds are a whole lot better than most too.

I do not know who used my name to post about the local restaurants in Jamesville, but I did not post anything bad about either of the places mentioned. I can think what I want or say what I choose, but I did not write my thoughts about the places in Jamesville. First and foremost, I checked the page source and it shows that webmail was used to write the article. I do not use webmail. Neither have I ever in my life underlined any words when typing unless it was when I was in high school or college and I had to. I don't know who wrote this, but I am not happy about it at all. To use someone's else's name is something that is not appreciated by me. The world doesn't have enough problems today without adding something like this to stir up people..good hard working people who are trying to make a decent living. True I'm not always happy with what I am served at any restaurant...that happens to all of us I would imagine. Never in 100 years would I stoop to criticizing someone's place of business on the Internet. I just don't do that. To the person/persons who wrote the article and used my name, I hope you are very satisfied because you have upset me and probably others who have read this...maybe even some of the owners and workers at the places. I hope God will forgive you for your unkind words and for using my name.

I am proud to live in a small town that patronizes it's businesses enough to sustain two eating establishments. As to the prices, if any business sells its goods or services at cost it is called a non-profit and has to be supported by outside funding, neither of these places aspire to be such. If Mrs. Bedwell shops at all she should know that prices for the last few years have been extremely volatile and to hold the prices at any constant level (cheap) would be impossible. Larger chains are sheltered from some of these flucuations by buying in such volumes that they control entire lines in their suppliers plants and can actually to some degree dictate prices but they do nothing that I know of for Jamesville. Chuckwagon coffee is not bad the grill has the nicest restrooms in Martin county lets keep them alive.
