new to area

Guthrie Center, IA

We are new to the state of Iowa, seems to have strange ideas on school. Even with doctors notes students get punished for missed days,here in Guthrie Center the grades will be taken away until time made up in detentions. They really want to spread germs around and Iowa seems to care more for animals in the cold ,what about the children? Here in Guthrie Center it is the last thing they want to do is cancel school due to weather. I will not be purchasing property in this county.I would hope other parts of Iowa is different.

School was on today even though there is a windchill warning and the temp is -18 windchill -35 to -50 below zero. The school was out on wed due to the cold but much colder today and that is the only one in session around the area today. Apparently the person in charge needs to be changed due to stupidity!
